Beignets!! Must we say more? This is the best spot for beignets in Nola! It is iconic and delicious and historic (opened in 1862). What is a beignet? It is a deep fried pastry covered in powdered sugar! Yes, it is as good (if not better) than it sounds! A few tips: - Cash only! - Don't wear black (can someone say powdered sugar!) - Order the frozen cafe au lait to go along with your beignets - Go at off peak hours to avoid lines - it is open 24 hours a day
"Notable spot for refined Creole food & an elegant jazz brunch in a chandelier-hung space since 1880." Brunch here is our favorite, but dinner is great too! Reservations are highly recommended (tip: ask for the Garden Room). Check website for dress code.
St. Charles Avenue has some of the most beautiful and historic houses in New Orleans. You can also take the streetcar instead of walking! Tip: If you are walking, walk down some of the side streets off of St. Charles Avenue as well (like 1st St)!
If you are looking for a party, look no further than Bourbon Street! Grab a "hurricane" from Pat O'Brien's (718 St Peter) or a "hand grenade" from Tropical Isle, both iconic New Orleans drinks. Maybe save this activity until after the wedding though! ;) And most importantly, be safe!
