Travel Note

Glacier National Park Car Reservation System

To alleviate excessive crowds at Glacier National Park, the park has implemented a car reservation system. A reservation is needed if you would like to enter the park between the hours of 6am – 4pm. You are welcome to visit the park outside of those without a reservation. Our ceremony is at 6:30pm, so you do not need a reservation to attend the wedding, as long as you enter after 4:00pm. However, you will still need a National Park Pass, which is available to purchase at the gates as you enter. To keep your options open while visiting, we highly encourage you to purchase a 3-day car reservation ticket from July 17th – July 19th. The cost is $2. The Going to the Sun Road Pass is the one you will most likely want, but if you want to explore the North Fork area which includes Bowman Lake and Kintla Lake you may want to grab a reservation for that part of the park, as well.

Travel Note

A piece of advice...

Since Glacier National Park is a popular summer destination, housing options can book up quickly, so we recommend booking an AirBnB or your hotel say ASAP. Our ceremony site is located at Lake McDonald in West Glacier. You may use that at a reference point when booking your stay, but any location in the greater Kalispell area including Whitefish, Columbia Falls, Creston, or Big Fork would be a great place to stay.
