Bride
Hello, Luke here. I would like to tell you about the first time I saw Samie Elbert. I don’t remember a whole lot, but I remember looking across the band room at NSU and seeing her smiling face like it was illuminated by a spotlight. Yes that is cheesy, and yes that is completely true. I like cheese, get used to it because there are double helpings. I used National Hug a Drummer Day as an excuse for her to hang out with me. We talked for about a year before I asked her out. I had this “make your own comic book” and I had planned on using it to ask her out for months. Even though my illustrations and plot were literal garbage, she said yes. ( the comic was about a stupid boy asking a girl with a magical smile out)
Groom
This is Samie! When Luke and I first met, I was just a freshman in college. I was very excited about making new friends, and one day, this upperclassman I only knew from band sent me a message and started talking to me. It didn’t take me long to figure out how incredibly funny and charming he was. We started spending more time together and hanging out, which was only made easier by being on the NSU drumline together. We spent a year in each other’s company, sharing ice cream dates and lots of laughs. Then one evening, Luke changed our lives forever by asking me out, and here we are, 5 years later, ready to share our lives. I’m so excited to call this goofy, kind-hearted man mine!
Maid of Honor
She’s not only my little sister, but she’s also my best friend and my go-to gal! I seriously can’t imagine my life without her! She’s so prominent in my life that Luke actually asked for her blessing and help in planning the perfect proposal. Plus, she made it very clear that if she wasn’t my Maid of Honor, she would disown me.
Best Man
I am having trouble finding the right words to explain why Tyler has played such a huge part in my life. I have always looked up to him. He is only twenty days older than me, but he has always seemed so much more mature. I have not witnessed him be bad at anything, and he is always a good time.
Bridesmaid
She knew the groom first, but I quickly learned how incredibly awesome she was, so I stole her for myself. I wish I’d had Rylie as a friend my whole life. Her smile is infinitely infectious, and she impacts anyone fortunate enough to cross paths with her due to her welcoming personality!
Groomsman
You will have a hard time finding a more fierce friend than Blake Meyer. He will drop anything to do anything for you. I can’t remember how many times he has gone above and beyond for me. As an added bonus he will make you laugh the entire time. His dry humor and pun abilities are second to none.
Bridesmaid
Although I have been blessed with many sisters, I am unbelievably excited to gain one more! I know how incredibly important Annie is to Luke as his only sibling and close confidant, so I’m truly thankful that she trusts me enough to marry her little brother!
Groomsman
I think Bodhi is the first person to ever make me feel like I was funny. In my formidable years he made me feel like what I thought and said mattered and was worth listening to. He is a load baring building block in the pyramid of the man I am today. I have not found an end to his charisma and his potential limitless.
Bridesmaid
We were practically inseparable throughout high school. You wouldn’t find one of us without the other! The memories we have together and the amount of times she was there for me when I needed a friend most are boundless. And here we are, about 10 years later, and we are still by each other’s sides!
Groomsman
After meeting Austin I realize how much I missed out on having a brother. He is smart, witty, and charming to be around. I count my lucky stars to be gaining such a wonderful brother.
Bridesmaid
Tori was my first best friend at public school, and she has known me the longest of anyone outside my family. We could tell you stories that leave you rolling on the floor laughing...or at least we would be. She has the most sincere and joyous laugh that makes it near impossible not to laugh along!
Groomsman
Within minutes of meeting Evan you know that he is genuinely himself. He has the creativity to remain a step ahead of peers in his field and the supreme courage to always beat his own path.
Jr. Bridesmaid
The bride’s eldest half-sister may be too young to have the “official” title of bridesmaid, but she has enough spunk for all of us.
Usher
Flower Girl
A younger half-sister to the bride, and she will probably be the one that really keeps this party going! She loves to dance, and she’s got the moves!
Flower Girl
The youngest half-sister to the bride, this cutie tends to be more quiet, but her shining smile may just steal the spotlight!
Dog of Honor
Luna is our oldest pet and a big momma’s girl. She has been by my side for 5 years and has made many things easier on me. When I cry, she stops whatever she is doing to come comfort me. She cuddles when I want to cuddle and plays when it's time to play. She is forever my baby.
Dog of Honor
Jedha is our 3rd fur baby. We got this Border Collie mix when she was about 6 months old, and she's filled our lives with joy for about 4 years now. We simply can not understand how she can have so much energy and be so happy all of the time. She is always smiling and can never refuse a tennis ball being thrown. She is a sweetheart and a ray of light in our lives.
Cat of Honor
Ellie is our 2nd oldest pet. I met her while working at the shelter in Aberdeen, and even though I swore I would never get a cat, I fell in love with this little kitten. She likes to spend her free time napping and staring off grumpily. She doesn't always make the best first impression, but she likes people more than she lets on.
Cat of Honor
Conan our first boy in the family other than myself. In the humane society he was hesitant and very shy. When we brought him home it only took a couple of minutes to show us how constantly cuddly he is. It turns out he is also very smart and curious. This gets him in trouble more than not, but we still love him all the same.
