After meeting through college band, we spent about a year talking and getting to know each other. We would watch movies and get ice cream, and we realized there might be something a little more there. Finally, on a Tuesday evening, Luke asked me out using a cute little comic book he had made, and I of course said yes!
On Thanksgiving Day, we were headed to Watertown to spend some time with my side of the family. Alyssa and I had made arrangements to take some sister pictures together because she said she needed a picture to post for my upcoming birthday. The plan was to meet at Memorial Park, but it was closed for the season, so we made a last-minute switch to the Terry Redlin Art Center. It was a brisk windy day, but we started walking down towards the gazebos. Luke takes me over to one that I see is decorated with rose pedals and covered with pictures of us. He says some things, we both tear up, he gets down on one knee, I of course say yes, and we were engaged!
We didn’t let COVID get us down, but we knew safety was important, so we had our very small and intimate backyard ceremony on our original wedding date instead of mourning the loss of the original wedding we spent a year and a half planning. We got to celebrate within the comfort of our own home with our pets and immediate family with perfect weather. We look forward to sharing these pictures with you and making new memories at our rescheduled reception!
