FAQs

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

For the Welcome Party, we encourage semi formal attire. For the Wedding, dressy cocktail attire is requested. Both events take place outdoors so please dress appropriately for the weather with layers. On the wedding day parts of the event will take place on grassy uneven terrain and suitable footwear is recommended.

Question

CAN I BRING A DATE/PLUS ONE?

Answer

We are only able to accommodate guests formally invited on the wedding invitation. Please see the front of your formal wedding invitation, when they arrive, for name(s) of all persons invited. Thank you for your understanding!

Question

Can I Park at the Venues?

Answer

FOR THE WELCOME PARTY Valet Parking: Available for $20 per vehicle at the Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa where the Stoke & Rye Restaurant is located. Please mention our event for the $20 valet rate. If you are planning on enjoying cocktails with us please consider other transportation: Uber and Lyft is available but can be limited, and local bus or shuttle systems may be used to get to and from the Welcome Event. FOR THE WEDDING Parking at the venue is limited, and the drive includes a steep mountain pass that can be challenging, especially after dark. Complimentary shuttles will be provided for all guests to and from the wedding. If you plan on drinking, please use the complimentary shuttle for a safe ride home.

Question

What's the Wedding Day Shuttle Schedule?

Answer

Shuttles will pick up guests at the Vail Village parking structures at 3:15 PM on the wedding day. Return shuttles run from ~8 PM until the reception ends. Further pick-up details will be shared closer to the event. Please include your email in your RSVP for shuttle updates.

Question

What's the Weather like in September?

Answer

Expect cool, crisp mountain weather with sunny days and chilly nights. Highs average around 64°F (18°C), and lows near 35°F (2°C). Layers are a must, and a light jacket will keep you comfortable. While generally dry, there's a small chance of rain, so a light waterproof layer is a good idea. The air is thin and dry. Sunscreen and extra water are highly encouraged. Fall colors may be starting—perfect for scenic views and photos!

Question

How do I take care of myself at high altitude?

Answer

Welcome to High Altitude! Vail sits at 8,120 feet above sea level and Camp Hale is 9,200 feet above sea level which is over 3,000 feet higher than Denver (5,280 ft). Altitude can affect your body, so here are a few tips to help you enjoy the wedding weekend comfortably: Hydrate Well – Start drinking water before your trip and keep it up while you're here. The dry mountain air means you’ll need about twice as much water as usual. Monitor Alcohol Intake – Alcohol hits harder at higher altitudes. Drink slowly and know your limits. Eat Potassium-Rich Foods – Bananas, avocados, dried fruits, greens, and potatoes help balance electrolytes. Pace Yourself – Keep in mind physical exertion feels more intense here. If you normally run 10 miles a day at home, you might try 6 miles in Denver. Sun Protection Is Key – With less atmosphere to filter UV rays, sunscreen, sunglasses, and lip balm are essential—even in winter. Dress in Layers – Two days before your trip to Denver and Vail, check the weather and use this information to pack appropriately. Mountain weather changes fast. Days can be warm, but evenings cool quickly. Temperatures at night can drop to freezing starting in the fall. Layers are your best friend. Relax and Enjoy – Don’t stress about the altitude. Most people adjust just fine with care and preparation.
