Creg and Sam were both working at the Pittsburgh Pirates. Sam would see Creg around the office, but was too shy to say anything to him. Then, she saw him on Tinder and decided to swipe right and they matched. Sam messaged first, answering one of the questions in Creg's bio and they were messaging back and forth. After two weeks of messaging on the app, Sam went to a Buccos game with her dad. Creg said something to annoy Sam, and he asked how "he could make it up to her." Sam said "Well, I could go for a White Claw" and he asked "What section are you in?" and she said "Top of 117." Not expecting him to be there a few minutes later, her knight in shining IZOD golf pants and light blue polo came with her libation of love. They talked for the first time in-person and she gave him her number afterwards. They texted non-stop after that. About a week goes by, and yet again Sam making the first move, asks when Creg is taking her out on a date. They decided to walk up to Federal Galley from the ballpark for dinner and they hit it off. (The first date was interrupted by one of Creg's old college professors that he ran into but it was cute.)
Sam was working the game and was the manager on duty that night. Creg was coming to the game, which wasn't unusual ever since he left the Pirates to work for the Pittsburgh Steelers. He would still attend a few games a year. He stopped by her office to leave his backpack and things in there and asked Sam if she had "Wanted to go for a walk?" Sam said "Sure" and didn't think anything of it. While walking into the stadium, they stopped in the middle of the main concourse and Sam saw Creg's old intern, Ben, with a camera. She looked at him and then looked up. She noticed they were standing at the top of Section 117, where they finally "met." She realized what was happening, and Creg got down on one knee and asked "Will you marry me?" She said yes! She then asked if it was his grandmother's ring, and he said "yes." Sam started sobbing. It was so quick, Ben was preparing for a speech to get his camera ready, but Creg got straight to the point. Surrounding spectators cheered and clapped; some even offering to buy them a drink (Sam was still on the clock, so had to respectfully decline.) Sam's boss, Jon, told her to take the rest of the night off and he would cover her Manager shift for the game. They went across the street to Mike's Beer Bar to celebrate.
