Flight
We recommend booking your flights as soon as possible! At this point, prices are unlikely to decrease and may only go up. Italy has several airports you can fly into, but we recommend flying into Rome (FCO) as it's typically the easiest and most direct option. Alternatively, Milan (MXP) can be a good choice depending on the flights available from your departure city. From either Rome or Milan, you can easily take a train to Florence. If you find a connecting flight directly to Florence (FLR), that’s a great option, but keep in mind it can often be more expensive and less convenient to coordinate. We highly recommend flying in a couple of days early to allow for any travel mishaps and to begin adjusting to the time zone. This way, you’ll feel rested and ready to enjoy the celebrations! At the very latest, you should plan to depart the U.S. on September 8th to arrive in time for the welcome dinner on September 9th. If you need help booking flights, navigating train schedules, or planning your journey, feel free to reach out—we’re happy to assist :)

Travel Note
Taxis and Uber: Taxis are readily available in Florence, and you can also use apps like ItTaxi or FreeNow to book a ride. Uber is available is also a convenient way to get around. Rental Cars: If you’re staying at the villa, Dimora Ghirlandaio, and plan to explore the surrounding countryside, renting a car could be a good idea. However, if you’re staying in Florence, we don’t recommend renting a car for the whole time as parking is limited, and many areas are restricted to residents only (ZTL zones). Florence is very walkable, and taxis, Ubers, or trains can easily get you where you need to go. If you want to explore the countryside, you can always rent a car for just the day! Wedding Transportation: We’ll be providing shuttles to and from the wedding venue. More details about shuttle schedules and pick-up points will be shared closer to the date.
