Tommy and Sam met the same way most millennials do these days: online. They mutually swiped right, chatted for a couple of weeks, and then set up their first date at a taproom in Durham, NC. They talked for hours and quickly set up date #2. The rest is history; they still love visiting their first date spot for a local beer and to reminisce about their first meeting.
Tommy and Sam had originally planned a vacation in the Dominican Republic in early December, however they had to cancel their plans due to COVID-19. It turns out that Tommy had planned to propose during that trip, so he had to make alternate arrangements. Instead, he suggested a weekend away in Blowing Rock, NC, knowing how much Sam loves the fall foliage in the Appalachian Mountains. On Saturday afternoon, Tommy suggested a trip to a local winery, followed by a brief scenic hike before going out for a fancy date night. They got all dressed up for the evening, tasted some excellent wine, and then made the ten minute climb to the Beacon Heights overlook Tommy recommended. Meanwhile, Tommy had hired a photographer to meet them there and capture their special moment. Tommy and Sam arrived at the overlook at sunset. Before Sam knew it, Tommy was down on one knee. Sam cried a lot, said yes, and the deal was sealed!
