Sam and Nick first met in college at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities in 2010. They met the way many college-aged couples meet – as teammates at a beer pong party. Sam can’t remember if they won or lost, but she’ll always remember how they connected over music – so much so that Nick left the party to go get his DJ gear so he could show it off to her. After that night, they started meeting up at the library for study dates. Study dates soon turned into actual dates, and the rest is history… From the very beginning, a shared love of music has connected Sam and Nick. In the years since college, Sam and Nick have enjoyed exploring music through travel – from attending music festivals in the U.S. to dancing at a beach club in the Netherlands and going to a dance festival in Guatemala – as well as establishing home and building community through music and dance in the Twin Cities. One of their favorite memories is backpacking in the Bighorn Mountains with their dance-friends-turned-adventure-crew in the summer of 2021. Nick proposed to Sam in 2020 after one of Sam’s aerial performances. Nick arranged for Sam to be the final performer of the night, and at the end of her performance, he got down on one knee in front of a crowd of friends and unsuspecting onlookers. After coming back down to Earth (literally and figuratively!), Sam said yes! They are so excited to start the next chapter of their lives as husband and wife. We can't wait to celebrate with you at our wedding ceremony and reception in June!
