Blue Ridge Parkway & Hiking
The northernmost end of the Blue Ridge Parkway begins with the Ridge Region at Milepost 0 in Afton, Virginia. It's a beautiful area, and perfect for a drive or a hike! If you're looking for a hike, nearby trails are the Mountain Farm Trail (easy), Appalachian Trail (difficult), Catoctin Loop Trail (moderate), and Greenstone Trail (moderate).
Wineries & Breweries
There are several amazing wineries and breweries in the area to grab a drink at! We would recommend any of the following, all are within a 10min drive of Indigo House: Devil's Backbone Brewery, Three Notch'd Brewery, Lovingston Winery, Flying Fox Winery, Blue Mountain Brewery, Veritas Vineyards and Winery, and Afton Mountain Vineyard. Just to name a few!
Visit Charlottesville
About 30min away is the city of Charlottesville. In Charlottesville, you can walk the Downtown Mall to check out great restaurants and shops, visit the University of Virginia's beautiful campus, or even learn a little bit about history at Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello. It's a great place to spend the day exploring.
