We're getting married!

Sam and Melissa met at Virginia Rep over six years ago! Melissa had been asked last minute to bartend an event at the theatre. At the event Lauren (Sam's mom) and Sam were catering. At one point, Sam approached Melissa to ask what beers she was serving - Melissa had no idea. She'd only moved to Richmond a few weeks before and all of the beers were local beers. She wasn't familiar with any of them and fumbled badly trying to read the names of each one. It didn't matter, though, because Sam already knew what the beers were. He didn't tell her until months later that asking was just his excuse to have reason to come over and talk to her. After that, they continued to run into each other at the theatre. Melissa always made a point to come over and say hi to Sam while he was working in the box office. It wasn't until a Halloween party they were both at that Sam finally asked Melissa on a date. Their first date was dinner at Sam's favorite restaurant, Joe's Inn. After they went to an arcade bar and played games (Sam kicked Melissa's ass at Guitar Hero!). Some of their best memories over the years include adopting River, camping at Occoneechee State Park, exploring Dublin together, and getting engaged at Forest Hill Park. They can't wait to add getting married to the list!
