FAQs

The Wedding Website of Elisabeth Pikman and Samuel David Herts
We will update the FAQ's as we get closer to the event. If you have any further questions besides the ones provided, feel free to reach out to Elisabeth, Samuel, or a family member
Question

What should I wear? Is there a dress code?

Answer

We ask that you dress Black-tie optional for our special event, since we are going all out! Which means... For the Ladies: A floor-length gown, a fancy cocktail dress, or a dressy pant-suit. (choices are the same as with black-tie) For the Men: Men have the option of wearing a tuxedo or a formal dark suit, white shirt, and conservative tie.

Question

Where are the ceremony and the reception taking place? Will it be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Both the ceremony and reception are taking place at the Virginian Hotel in Lynchburg, VA. And it will be indoors.

Question

Do you have a hotel block for guests? Where do you recommend I stay?

Answer

As indicated in the travel section of our website, we have a block of rooms with the Virginian Hotel and would recommend you to book a room ASAP, since we have a lot of out of town folks. (In case no rooms will be available, please contact Elisabeth so that she could try to make more rooms available). Otherwise, there are plenty of other hotels in and near Lynchburg.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

The ceremony is scheduled to start at 4 o'clock. Since the Jewish Messianic tardiness is the only Jewish concept we are trying to avoid during our wedding, we recommend that you arrive 15-30 minutes before the start of the ceremony, to make sure everyone is on time and we can get the party started as scheduled.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We love your little ones! However, to allow our guests, including parents, the chance to have an evening of relaxation, we request that the ceremony and reception be for adults only, unless specified otherwise on your invitation. If, however, your coming depends on your kids, please contact Elisabeth.

Question

Can I take pictures during the ceremony?

Answer

Our ceremony will be an unplugged ceremony. Thus, we kindly ask you to abstain from taking any pictures and taking out your phones in general during the ceremony, so that the professional pictures won't have your phones in the background. The professional pictures will be shared once received. During the reception, however, you are more than welcome to take as many pictures as your heart desires.

Question

When is the RSVP deadline? Do I need to mail back my RSVP or can I do it online?

Answer

We cordially ask you to please RSVP by July 1, 2020. Once we send out our formal invitations, we will open our online RSVP. You are more than welcome to also send in the manual RSVP, that came with the invitation, if responding online is unusual for you.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

We have a strict guest list to stay on budget. Thus, our wedding is strictly RSVP only and we will only be able to accommodate those listed on your invitation.

Question

Can I take and post pictures of the wedding on social media?

Answer

Yes, we encourage guests to post pictures on to their social media channels, our only request is that you tag each photo with our wedding hashtag #PikmyHerts so we can keep track of all of your pictures! Also, please remember that we are having an unplugged ceremony (no phones and cameras during the ceremony, please!)

Question

Where are you registered?

Answer

We are registered through Zola. Our registry is part of our website or you can follow the link below: www.zola.com/registry/samandelisabeth

Question

Will food and drinks be served at the reception? What kind of food?

Answer

Yes, both will be provided during cocktail hour (Hors D'Oeuvres & Drinks) and reception (Dinner, Drinks, & Desert). For dinner, you will have a choice between Salmon and Chicken, which you can indicate through your RSVP (both online and manually)

Question

Where should guests park? Is parking free?

Answer

The Virginian Hotel provides free parking spaces. Including optional Valet for a fee.

Question

Are there other wedding events I can attend?

Answer

Our out of town guests are cordially invited to a brunch the morning after our wedding.

Question

What happens between the ceremony and reception?

Answer

Following the ceremony we will have a cocktail hour.

Question

What should I do if I can't make it?

Answer

You will be missed! If you can not make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP "no", so we can plan accordingly.

Question

What will the weather be like this time of year?

Answer
