Their story started December 31st, 2016 at a Messianic Jewish conference (Muchan) in Prague. For him it was love at first sight. For her, not quite. After pursuing her friendship and attention for the rest of the conference, she eventually gave in and decided to give him a chance. Both of them flew back home afterwards and continued a long-distance courtship, with daily conversations - by text and calls. During this endeavor she flew to his university to figure out if it could be a good fit for her as well, since she was a senior in High-School then. They had a wonderful weekend, after which she returned to Dallas. For her graduation in May, he decided to fly in from New York to surprise her and formally ask her out. After that summer, they met in Virginia where they both are now pursuing their bachelor's degrees and are just as in-love now as they were then.
This past New Year's 2018 vacation they spent at the same conference, however, this time in Rome. On New Year's Eve, exactly two years after they first met, they went out to a nice dinner with several friends, after which they went to a central area to watch the fireworks. On their walk back to the hotel, they went a different way, and decided to all take pictures, while crossing the Garibaldi bridge in Rome. That's when he suddenly went down on one knee and asked for her hand in marriage! She never expected to be surprised when this moment came! Yet, he managed to accomplish the unimaginable and did a great job at it. It was a surprising, pure, and cherish-able moment, which neither of them will ever forget. Now they will always be able to say "When in Rome....we got engaged"!
To stay dedicated to our undergraduate degree and keep scholarships, we decided to postpone the wedding until after our graduation. And we can't wait to celebrate this long-awaited day with you! We hope you can make it to the biggest event in our lives thus far!
