Travel Note
Salida is full of great hotels and AirBnbs! Since Salida gets very busy on Labor Day weekend we highly recommend booking soon. Some great options: the Amigo Motor Lodge, Loyal Duke Lodge, Palace Hotel and the Manhattan Hotel. And there are tons of Airbnb’s too, many that are located near the reception.
Flight
The cheapest/easiest airport to fly into is Denver. Salida is a 3 hour drive from the Denver airport (...sorry). A car will be needed from this point (see rental cars below). Colorado Springs is more expensive, but cuts about an hour off your drive. If you really want to feel fancy, you can fly to Aspen and have the shortest (and most spectacular) drive at an hour and half.
Rental Car
Most likely, you will need one of these if you plan on flying in. Please feel free to contact us about linking groups together for potential carpool from the airport! Save money and the environment! There is also a Greyhound bus that travels from Denver to Salida for $29 a ticket. Old school!
Travel Note
No matter where you're coming from, its never a bad idea to road trip! Colorado has four incredible National Parks! If you're driving from Los Angeles, you'll pass another five on your way through Utah. It creates a perfect opportunity to take a few extra days and check out some places that you might not have a chance to easily explore. Sam and I have made the drive many times and it truly never gets old.
Travel Note
If you're flying into Denver, we highly encourage you to travel in Thursday night or early Friday morning to avoid the crush of holiday traffic out of Denver, as our wedding is the Labor Day weekend. Otherwise, download some good podcasts!
