Visit the historic party palace of King George IV outside of our wedding! It's very interesting, unique and surreal. You'll only be seeing a small part of the building during our wedding, so it's definitely worth seeing the full palace!
Brighton has some amazing pubs. Some of our favourites include: - The Heart and Hand (meet Bailey the pub cat!) - The Prince Albert (find the Banksy on the wall outside) - The White Rabbit (sit outside and people-watch Brighton's quirky characters) - The Cricketers (Brighton's oldest pub) - The Great Eastern (A personal favourite of Sam's!) - The Black Dove (A great atmosphere with some unique beers on tap) - The Hand in Hand (a small, quirky pub that brews its own beer) - The Druids Head (said to be the most haunted pub in Brighton) - The Fiddlers Elbow (the best poured - and cheapest - Guinness in town)
Brighton has some great restaurants for all budget levels. Some of our favourites include: - Very Italian Pizza (affordable and authentic Naples-style pizza and Italian food - Sam's no.1 recommendation) - 19 Old Steine, BN1 1EL - Little Jack Fullers (Takeout fish and chips - Sam's personal favourite fish and chips) - 102 St James's Street, BN2 1TP - Shelter Hall (Trendy pop-up food court on the seafront) - Kings Road Arches, BN1 1NB - Riddle and Finns (Fresh high-end seafood) - 12b Meeting House Lane, BN1 1HB - The Coal Shed (high-end steakhouse) - 8 Boyce's Street, BN1 1AN - Cardamom (Sam's favourite place for Indian food) - 119 St. James's Street, BN2 1TH - Burger Brothers (burger joint, awarded 'Britain's Best Burger' in 2017) - 97 North Road, BN1 1YE - Pinnochio (Affordable and very good Italian food) - 22 New Road, BN1 1UF - Any pub Sunday Roast! Can't recommend a specific place, but a Sunday Roast is a MUST, especially for our American guests. Most pubs will do one on a Sunday.
The iconic and historic landmark: Brighton Palace Pier Dating back to the Victorian era, this pier includes fairground rides, arcades and food stalls - an icon of the traditional British seaside day out.
Peruse the quirky independent shops in Brighton's North Laines. We love going into the boutiques, vintage clothes shops, bakeries, pubs and definitely make a point of exploring SNOOPER'S PARADISE - an eccentric and eclectic flea market.
Not to be confused with North Laines, 'The Lanes' in Brighton are legendary. Explore the winding and narrow streets and alleys laden with jewellery shops, quirky antiques, second-hand book shops, cafes and so much more.
Built in 1866, the West Pier was abandoned in the 1970s and has succumbed to a number of fires and storm damage. All that remains now is the shell and it's a wonderful place to catch the beautiful Brighton sunset.
Enjoying fish and chips on the seafront is part of the quintessential Brighton experience. Our favourite is Little Jack Fuller's on St. James' Street (just watch out for the seagulls!).
Since the late 18th century, visitors to Brighton have enjoyed promenading along the seafront. It's a lovely, flat walk from Kemptown to Hove. Admire the iconic Victorian architecture, get your fortune told by a palm reader, admire art for sale in the pop-up galleries, get an ice cream (with a flake!), enjoy a drink in one of the numerous bars, or just simply people-watch the weird and wonderful characters of Brighton.
Brighton is surrounded by the South Downs National Park. It's lovely and very accessible by bus or car if you're visiting for an extended period. Check out the Seven Sisters cliffs, Cuckmere Haven, or the Beachy Head Lighthouse.
