FAQs

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Update — we know some invitations are delayed so we’re extending the RSVP deadline to 7/1. As our venue space is limited, we weren't able to include many plus ones. We'd like to extend these additional invitations if we have space after all guests RSVP.

Question

How do I get to the venue?

Answer

The Royal Pavilion is in the center of Brighton and is very accessible via bus, train, Uber, or on foot. There is no parking; we strongly advise against driving to the venue.

Question

What time should I arrive at the venue?

Answer

The Royal Pavilion is a business and will be open to the public until 5:45pm. Because of this, our guests won't be able to enter the building for the welcome reception until 6pm. Please don't arrive at the venue until then. Thanks!

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Cocktail attire, please 🍸 (semi-formal… Google it 😉) Please refrain from stiletto heels due to conservation requirements in the historic venue.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

The Royal Pavilion is a Grade I historical building and has capacity restrictions to ensure the preservation of the building & its contents, as well as fire safety. Unfortunately, due to these capacity restrictions, we regretfully ask our guests to please not bring a plus one, unless they are specifically named on the invitation or otherwise discussed. Thank you so much for understanding!

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Due to venue rules & limited space, we hope you appreciate that children are only invited if named. Under 18s must leave the reception venue by 10pm.

Question

What's the dinner plan?

Answer

Because we're having an evening ceremony, we won't have a traditional sit-down dinner. We will provide buffet-style catering at the reception, but that will be later in the evening (8:30pm or so). We recommend having a light snack or meal before the ceremony. There will be vegan options. Please email us if you have specific dietary restrictions.

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

A certain amount of money will be put behind the bar. You'll definitely get a few drinks on us, but we know what our friends are like! The bar will switch to card/cash once the money runs out.

Question

Am I allowed to take photos at your wedding?

Answer

Our ceremony is in a unique and beautiful venue, and we'd love for you to capture these memories. As we'd like everyone to be present in the moment, we kindly ask you to refrain from taking photos or videos during the actual ceremony. Please feel free to take photos and videos at any other point!

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

Please see the Travel page for our hotel recommendations and flight information. Visit the Things to Do page for suggestions on activities.

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

The weather should be sunny and warm, but as it's a coastal British town, you never know. The wedding events will be indoors, but there will be a 5-10 minute walk between the ceremony venue and reception venue. We'll keep an eye on the weather and plan accordingly - umbrellas will be available if it rains.

Question

I have a different question, who can I contact?

Answer

Please email samandaudgethitched@gmail.com with any questions.

Question

If I can't attend in person, is there a way to view the wedding ceremony?

Answer

We'd be sorry to miss you, but unfortunately we will not be live streaming the ceremony. We will post photos on the website once they are available.

For all the days along the way
