The expression rings particularly true in the case of Mike and Katie, who had absolutely no idea they finally found their perfect match when they agreed to a Bumble date in March 2019.  In the backdrop of the busy NYC Financial District, they quickly bonded over their similar journeys through their 20’s: urban living, corporate working, with plenty of time allocated towards travel, music festivals and new adventures.  They both felt something indescribable towards one another, but neither one was quite ready to take the leap and so they went their separate ways. Fast forward to 2020, a year that won’t soon be forgotten.  With the world in a frenzy, the focus turned to reflection and new beginnings.  Despite not seeing each other in over a year, Katie and Mike couldn’t help but think of each other during this time. They both made it a point to reach out to one another on their birthdays, and from there, the text and Instagram messages ignited like they never went their separate ways.  As soon as the world began to open up, they jumped into action and went on another “first date.” Seeing each other for the first time in over a year is a feeling Mike and Katie will never forget.  It was like a long-lost friend had finally been returned to them.  Before the first drink could be served, they already knew that the other was exactly what each was missing. And from there, they became inseparable. Within less than a year of dating, Katie and Mike got an apartment together in Hoboken. With each day, they discovered more things about one another that completes them – their ability to calm and comfort each other in times of stress, their likeminded aspirations for the future and their selfless commitment to supporting each other’s needs, even if that meant moving to New Jersey for Katie. Despite living in NYC for 8 years, Katie takes solace in knowing top-tier Italian food and world-class views are right around the corner, and more importantly, that they are building a life together. The decision to get engaged on May 20, 2022 was the easiest choice either of them have ever made.
