Wedding Party

Charles & Bettie Vaughan

Parents

Sallie's Daddy and Mama are from Lawrenceville, Virginia, a town so quaint it has just one stoplight! Their home, built in 1810, is full of Southern charm. It is the same house that Sallie grew up in and is located about an hour from the venue. They've been lifelong residents of Southside Virginia and have always been Sallie's biggest supporters in anything in or around the area including, but not limited to volleyball, school softball, recreational softball, travel softball, church, dance, piano, & Girl Scouts.

Jake & Paige Tomlison

Parents

Stevi's Mom and Step-dad hail from Gaston, South Carolina, just a quick 40-minute drive from Sallie & Stevi's home. As the "local parents", they've shown endless support over the years, especially when Stevi and Sallie head up to Virginia for holidays, always waiting to celebrate when they return. Being in the country for the wedding is nothing new to them! Stevi loves to joke that Sallie is finally the type of daughter that her mom, Paige, never quite got out of Stevi - though we're sure Stevi turned out just fine!

Blair Moore

Maid of Honor

Blair has been Sallie's best friend since their preschool days at The Country Mouse, and their bond has only grown stronger over the years. From middle and high school, Blair and Sallie were inseparable -- although Blair is the reason '09 Sal was salutatorian rather than valedictorian! You won't find any pictures of them as teenagers as Blair has deleted them all. Despite attending rival colleges and living miles apart, their bond has remained unshakable, with the two always finding time to catch up. Now that Blair lives in Charlotte, NC, Sallie is thrilled to have her close by for regular hangouts -- often with Stevi as the third wheel!

Summer Dawkins

Bridesmaid

Summer is Sallie's high school bestie and a constant reminder that Sallie's been the bossier one since the 2000s. When Sallie left for college, leaving Summer behind, let's just say .. it didn't go over well. Some say they are still crying about it. But that's what makes Summer so special -- no matter the distance, she's always been there for Sallie, even driving to surprise her after the engagement. Their relationship has only grown stronger over the years, with Sallie proudly standing by Summer at her own wedding. If you're wondering who Summer is at the wedding, just look for the one in tears (again)!

Anna Akers-Pecht

Bridesmaid

Anna has been Sallie's friend since day one -- literally! As childhood neighbors, their bond goes all the way back to Sallie's baby book, where there's a card from Anna's mom saying how excited she was for Sallie's arrival. So, you could say Anna was Sallie's first-ever friend. Even though Anna has been living in Chicago since high school, the two always make time to catch up when they're back in their hometown. Fun fact: Anna sometimes visits Sallie's parents even when Sallie isn't there! Now, she's making another trip home, this time for the big day!

Linsey Jenkins

Bridesmaid

Of the four bridesmaids who grew up in Southside Virginia, Linsey has the hometown advantage -- she grew up just 15 miles down the road from the wedding venue in Dundas. Sallie and Linsey didn't really connect until they ended up in the same college dorm, only to realize they'd played softball against each other in highschool! Linsey has a knack for staying close to Sallie, now even living in the same city and working as dietitians for the same dialysis company. For the past 8 years, Sallie has been hitching rides to Lawrenceville and Blacksburg from South Carolina with Linsey, making their road trips a tradition. And when it comes to Sallie's love life, Stevi is Linsey's all-time favorite -- and we couldn't agree more!

Lindsey Koon

Bridesmaid

Of all the bridesmaids, Lindsey is the only one not familiar with Southside Virginia. Lindsey and Sallie met in South Carolina back in 2016 when they both joined an adult co-ed softball league. They instantly clicked and have been side by side through all the ups and downs of adult life ever since. Sallie proudly stood by Lindsey at her wedding as a bridesmaid, and now she's thrilled for Lindsey to do the same for her. And if you're wondering, yes, the two are still hitting the field together, going strong for 8 years of softball and counting!

Blair Crane

Junior Bridesmaid

Blair is Sallie's oldest niece and will be a fabulous 13 year old by the time the wedding rolls around -- what a ... fun age! When she visits Camp S&S, you can bet she and Stevi are blasting Taylor Swift and singing their hearts out in the car. Blair also loves to hit up Lululemon during her visits to take full advantage of Aunt Sallie's discount. Not only is she a stylish shopper, but she also keeps the couple in check, which is just as it should be!

Ryan Harp

Best Man

Ryan, better known as "Harp" (because in law enforcement, last names are the best way to go), is Stevi's former boss turned best friend. Over time, his family has welcomed Stevi as one of their own, with his two kids looking up to Stevi like a big sibling. Both of Harp's kids will also be in the wedding, making it a true family affair. The Harp family has become close to both Sallie and Stevi, and they wouldn't have it any other way than having Harp by Stevi's side as Best Man.

Jamie Shaw

Best Lady

Jamie proudly holds the title of "Best Lady" as the only female on Stevi's side, and we couldn't love it more. She and Stevi met at the police academy, forging a close bond while working together in law enforcement. Now both with SLED, Jamie continues to be a trusted friend and partner in crime (the good kind). As the only woman on her SWAT team, Jamie is tough as nails -- but don't let that fool you. She's also one of the kindest and most thoughtful people you'll ever meet. Just a friendly heads up -- we wouldn't mess with her!

Rob Rowe

Accomplice

Rob, better known as "Rowe" (because, of course, we stick to last names here), met Stevi during their days with the highway patrol. Much like Stevi, Rowe eventually went to the dark side and left the highway patrol to work for SLED. Just like Harp, Rowe's family has welcomed Stevi as one of their own. Their daughter, one of our flower girls, can't get enough of Stevi and sticks to her like glue, especially during the many hosted dinners at the Rowe household. In fact, the Rowe family has hosted nearly all of Sallie's family when they visit. If their kitchen or boat had a Yelp page, the Vaughan family would be handing out a 5-star review!

Michael Flitter

Accomplice

Michael "Flitter" because in this crew, last names are a must. Stevi and Flitter became fast friends while working the same shift for the highway patrol. With matching days off, they spent most of their downtime hanging out together, often with Montes in tow. Although Stevi's days off don't always line up with theirs anymore, their friendship has held strong. Fun fact: one time, during a group text, someone's phone autocorrected "Flitter" to "Glitter", so for the wedding night, we kindly ask that you call him "Lady Glitter Sparkles" from the movie Trolls.

Miguel Montes-Vera

Accomplice

By now, you've probably caught on -- we go by last names, so meet "Montes", who joined Stevi's shift back in their highway patrol days. In law enforcement, working together builds a bond like no other, and Montes, Stevi, and Flitter have stuck together ever since. Even though Stevi "went to the dark side" and left the highway patrol behind, their friendship has stayed strong. Montes is still a key part of the squad and now, the wedding! P.S. Stevi would like to add that Montes is, in fact, a legal citizen.

Boone Tomlison

Accomplice

Boone is Stevi's little stepbrother -- though not so little anymore compared to this picture that Stevi wanted to use. Boone has the pleasure of being one of the folks we have on "speed dial" when we need help with our boat or house projects. Boone is family and we are excited to have him by Stevi's side on the big day!

Reagan Vaughan

Flower Girl

Reagan, who will be a lively 11 years old niece at the wedding, has graciously accepted the role of our flower girl! Reagan is our biggest hype girl; when her mom told her that Stevi was finally proposing, she enthusiastically yelled, "Let's go!". Reagan loves to keep Stevi on her toes, constantly reminding her to bring a little more enthusiasm to the table. But Stevi always reassures Reagan that their relationship only has room for one overly animated personality, and that role has been filled by none other than her Aunt Sallie. We can't wait to see her sprinkle her joy down the aisle!

Cora Vaughan

Flower Girl

Cora is Sallie's youngest niece and a bundle of joy! When she first met Stevi, her oldest sister, Reagan, was a bit shy, so they devised a clever plan: Reagan would whisper her thoughts to Cora, who would then confidently share them out loud with Stevi. Their main mission? To convince Stevi to keep playing with them! When asked about her favorite part of the family vacation, Cora didn't mention the ice cream or the amusement park -- nope, it was simply playing with Stevi! We can't wait to see Cora sprinkle her flowers down the aisle, bringing her adorable charm to our big day at the age of 8!

Kathryn Harp

Flower Girl

Meet Kathryn Harp, the adorable flower girl with a heart of gold! Kathryn has been part of Stevi's life since she was just one year old -- Stevi actually met her at her first birthday party! She used to go by "baby K" back then, but Stevi and Sallie still use that nickname today. She'll be 10 years old at the time of the wedding and their bond is as strong as Sallie's with her own nieces, with Stevi always putting Kathryn first. As a little girl, Kathryn would run yelling "Steeeewey" when she would spot Stevi's car coming into the driveway, and I know Stevi wishes she does that the rest of her life. The sweet little girl radiates joy, and we can't wait to see her sprinkle flowers down the aisle with a huge smile on her face, making our special day even brighter!

Avery Rowe

Flower Girl

Introducing Avery, Stevi's adorable Velcro sidekick! This energetic girl is always glued to Stevi's hip, seeking her out in any crowd for a playdate. From swimming in the lake to splashing in the pool and roasting marshmallows by the fire, Avery has filled our days with fun and laughter. One year, she wrote on her "back to school" poster that her best friends were Sallie and Stevi. Sadly, we have since been replaced now that she's made friends her own age in school. With her sweet nature and a little bit of sass, she's sure to sprinkle extra joy along the aisle as our fabulous flower girl at 9 years old on the big day!

Maverick Sawyer

Ring Bearer

Meet "Mav", Sallie's youngest nephew and our brave ring bearer! Although he's a bit unsure about his big role in the wedding when he's 9yo, he still enthusiastically agreed to take it on. Luckily, Mav never had to meet any of the other people Sallie dated -- he only knows and loves Stevi! Over the years, Sallie and Stevi have celebrated many of Mav's summer birthdays at Camp S&S, where fun memories are made. Each year, Mav is the "pancake assistant" to Stevi in the kitchen whipping up birthday pancakes that include sprinkles, whipped cream, and chocolate chips! We're putting a lot of trust in Mav to safely deliver our rings down the aisle -- he's got this!

Hayes Harp

Ring Bearer

Meet Hayes, our charming ring bearer who will be the big 6 years old on our wedding day! Sallie and Stevi had the privilege of being there right after he was born, and he has since blossomed into the most lovable little boy you'll ever meet. With a heart full of affection, Hayes never says no to a warm welcome hug or a sweet goodbye hug. Although the Harp family technically adopted Stevi first, Sallie feels a special connection to Hayes since she's been part of his life since day one! We can't wait to see him strut down the aisle with our precious rings!

Meredith Sawyer

Honorary Matron of Honor

Meredith is Sallie's oldest sister, who she calls "Mert". And when we say older, we mean 13 years older! While Meredith was getting ready for her first year of college, Sallie was just heading to her first day of Kindergarten. Meredith has been bossing Sallie around for as long as Sallie can remember -- in true oldest child fashion. In fact, Stevi listens to Meredith more than anyone else in the family listens to her bossiness! Sallie was a 12-year old bridesmaid in Meredith's wedding 20 years ago when she married Tom, who Sallie met when she was 10 years old! All Sallie remembers from the wedding night is how she peed in her bridesmaid dress from "forgetting" to pee all day.

Charlotte Crane

Honorary Matron of Honor

Charlotte is Sallie's older sister by 12 years who she calls "Cha", and she's the one sister with whom Sallie shares a striking resemblance -- it's that sharp jawline they both inherited from their mama! Sallie was a 15-year-old bridesmaid when Charlotte married Adam, whom Sallie has known since she was just 5 years old. Stevi often says that Sallie is closer to Charlotte now than ever before, which isn't far from the truth. The decade age difference can be challenging until both siblings reach adulthood! One of Charlotte's favorite games is to ask strangers in public who they think is older, taking huge pride when the answer is Sallie.

Danielle Vaughan

Honorary Matron of Honor

Danielle is Sallie's sister-n-law who married her brother. When they first met in the early 2000s, Sallie had the worst sense of style and attitude as a teenager -- but those days are long behind them! Over the years, Danielle has become a close confidante for Sallie, often offering life advice like a true sister. As an only child, Danielle married into a huge family, gaining three sisters-n-laws who are all wonderfully different, each with their own strong opinions. We can only imagine how relieved she must feel to welcome a new sister-in-law in Stevi, who is a little easier going than the rest of us!

Harrison Vaughan

Usher

Harrison is Sallie's only brother, and he's 8 years older. He was the only sibling that Sallie remembers growing up with, though he claims to have no childhood memories with her -- except for one: he said the word "Bubba" over and over until it became Sallie's first word. When everyone else in the family received a wedding party request except him, he started to feel left out. So naturally, we've deemed him one of our ushers!

Turner Sawyer

Usher

Turner is Sallie's oldest nephew, and the one who made her an aunt many years ago. Sallie was a freshman in college when he was born, and it's crazy to think he'll be 15 on the wedding day. He's a regular at Camp S&S, though he'd much rather stay on his phone than participate in any of the camp activities. Turner is also the go-to person for answering all of his younger brother Maverick's endless questions about Stevi -- like, "Why does she have such short hair?". Even though he likes to keep to himself, Turner will always hold the special title of being the first to make Sallie "Aunt Sallie".

Steed Crane

Usher

Steed is Sallie's nephew, who would probably prefer not to be an usher or have any attention on him unlike his aunt. No pressure though as he'll be 15 by the time the wedding rolls around! Steed has spent a few summers at Camp S&S, where he's known as a man of few words. He rarely texts, but one memorable summer day while his family was visiting, he actually pulled out his phone to send a message. That one text? To his mom, letting her know how much fun he was having at the arcade with Stevi.

Brent Sawyer

Usher

Brent, on the other hand, is all in! He texted Sallie and Stevi verbatim in a group text that he would "gladly be our usher," and is already asking if he can wear a tux when he's 13 on the wedding day. Brent is a frequent camper at Camp S&S, whether he's coming solo or with family. On Virginia Tech game days, he's up bright and early at 6:30am to ride with Stevi and grab donuts from Carol Lee Donuts -- because if you're a Hokie, you know that's a must!

Tiffany Cripps

Officiant

When it came time to choose the perfect person to officiate their wedding, Sallie and Stevi knew exactly who to call. Tiffany is that rare friend who tells it like it is, always with your best interest at heart. The three bonded during the pandemic, riding electric scooters through downtown Columbia and ordering way too much to-go food. Tiffany is the kind of friend you can lean on -- just not too much because she's not big on hugs! She'll be leading the ceremony with her signature humor and honestly, please pay attention ... or we'll never hear the end of it!

Rachelle Gleaton

Mistress of Ceremonies

Rachelle and Sallie crossed paths in 2016 during their yoga teacher training, and it was an instant connection. From there, they quickly began hanging out outside of yoga class, with Sallie often turning to Rachelle for life advice. She has even made the trek to the bustling metropolis of Lawrenceville with Sallie in the past! As the city manager of Lexington SC (and often giving life advice to Stevi, too), it's only fitting that we entrusted Rachelle with the role of Mistress of Ceremonies. She's the perfect person to tell everyone what to do during our ceremony -- because let's face it, she tells us what to do!

Belinthia Elder

Reader

Belinthia and Sallie crossed paths in 2014 when Belinthia was Sallie's preceptor during her nutrition graduate program in Hartsville, SC. Their first encounter was unforgettable; Sallie caught Belinthia reapplying her mascara right before stepping into a patient's room at the hospital -- talk about priorities?! Over the years, Belinthia has inspired Sallie to up her beauty game, from wearing lipstick to getting her nails and hair done, and even demanding coffee in bed. Now, they share a deeper bond, as Belinthia owns a yoga studio where Sallie teaches. Turns out, they have way more in common than they ever thought!

Cameron Hall

Personal Attendant

Yes, Sallie has a personal attendant for her wedding -- and not just one, but three! Their main mission? To keep both Sallie and Stevi in check on the big day! Sallie met Cameron in 2020 when they both became nutrition managers, and they've been texting every day since, despite the hours that separate them. Although she wouldn't admit it, Cameron is low-key Stevi's biggest fan, always cheering her on from afar. With her help, we know we are in good hands on the big day!

Iris Hilpisch

Personal Attendant

Meet Iris, who is basically the older, darker version of Sallie. Seriously, they think, talk, and walk the same -- just don't ask them to pose for a side-by-side photo! The duo met through Fresenius Kidney Care, and even though they've never actually worked together, finding your long-lost twin in the same company feels like sharing an office every day. So, please, show her some love -- she deserves it for taking such good care of us!

Teresa Coseo

Personal Attendant

Let's be honest: we couldn't trust Cameron and Iris to keep us in line without Teresa stepping in! Sallie actually met Teresa's husband first when they worked together as dietitians at the local hospital. Teresa came as his plus one to Sallie's housewarming party, but it wasn't until she joined Fresenius Kidney Care that the two really hit it off. And yes, they're both dietitians married to each other -- talk about a power couple! With Teresa around, we know we'll be well taken care of.

Maggie McGuire

PR

Maggie is Summer's youngest sister and has been tagging along with Sallie since the early 2000s -- much to Summer's dismay! While we don't mention it often, Maggie actually met Stevi long before Summer did (in our defense, she lives much closer to us!). We've dubbed her our "media hype girl", which is a totally made-up title just so we could feature her on this page. But honestly, we're secretly hoping she'll capture some great social media footage for us!

Rock

Dog of Honor / Best Dog

We wish we could say Rock would love to be at our wedding, but the truth is, he's happiest at home in his comfort zone. Rock came into our lives in 2020 under some pretty special circumstances. While Stevi was working for the highway patrol, she responded to a tragic wreck. Rock's previous owner had suffered a heart attack, and Rock was found patiently waiting by the truck in the woods. After being checked out by the vet and learning that his family didn't want to take him in, it took just one look at a picture of Rock for Sallie to know he belonged with us. And just like that, we became Rock's family. His name is more than fitting -- he truly has been our rock ever since!
