Exploring South Congress (SoCo)

Austin, TX

South Congress is one of Austin’s most iconic streets and has been a cultural hotspot in Austin for decades. It’s known for its vintage charm, eclectic boutiques, galleries, longstanding food favorites, and beautiful hilltop views at St. Edward’s University campus. It’s perfect for a leisurely stroll. Here are a few must-see spots: - Home Slice Pizza: Tessa and her friends would hit up this local favorite all the time during her Atx days. Grab a slice at this beloved New York-style pizzeria. - Jo’s Coffee: Not just for coffee, Jo's is known for its laid-back vibe and the iconic “I love you so much” mural. - Ego’s - Tessa and her friends may argue that this is the best karaoke bar in Austin. So many memories here 🎤 - Curra’s - on Oltorf down the street from Soco - Tessa’s favorite place to get avocado margaritas. - Amy’s Ice Cream

Downtown Austin

Austin, TX

Places We Love in Downtown Austin Barbarella’s - One of our favorite spots to dance the night away! From 80s hits to Selena, Barb’s always guarantees a fun time and the best vibes. Side Bar - We’ve spent many chill nights here with friends, enjoying drinks on the cozy patio. Fun fact: we made it “official” at this classic Austin dive. Rainey Street - Perfect for bar-hopping, Rainey is full of charming bungalows turned into bars with great food, live music, and endless good vibes. Mohawk - Love live music? Mohawk’s outdoor stage is iconic, hosting indie bands and local artists. It’s an intimate spot that feels like part of Austin’s soul. Stubb’s BBQ - Legendary BBQ and live music make Stubb’s a classic ATX experience. Grab brisket and catch a concert—it doesn’t get more Austin than this!

East Austin

Austin, TX

East Austin has maintained its local, artsy charm while evolving over the years. Here are some classic places that have withstood the test of time: - The White Horse: This honky-tonk bar is known for its cheap drinks, live music, and lively atmosphere. A place we would hit up with our friends before our Seattle days. - Cheer Up Charlies: A colorful and iconic LGBTQ+ bar with a great outdoor space, live music, and kombucha on tap. It’s been a staple of the East Austin scene for years. So many SXSW memories here. - Franklin Barbecue - the most famous BBQ spot in Austin - you want to get there early before they sell out for the day! - Hotel Vegas/Volstead - one of our favorite spots to get drinks, go dancing, and see live music. Check out the food trucks across the street after! Juan in a Million - Loved going here for breakfast tacos
