Places We Love in Downtown Austin Barbarella’s - One of our favorite spots to dance the night away! From 80s hits to Selena, Barb’s always guarantees a fun time and the best vibes. Side Bar - We’ve spent many chill nights here with friends, enjoying drinks on the cozy patio. Fun fact: we made it “official” at this classic Austin dive. Rainey Street - Perfect for bar-hopping, Rainey is full of charming bungalows turned into bars with great food, live music, and endless good vibes. Mohawk - Love live music? Mohawk’s outdoor stage is iconic, hosting indie bands and local artists. It’s an intimate spot that feels like part of Austin’s soul. Stubb’s BBQ - Legendary BBQ and live music make Stubb’s a classic ATX experience. Grab brisket and catch a concert—it doesn’t get more Austin than this!
East Austin has maintained its local, artsy charm while evolving over the years. Here are some classic places that have withstood the test of time: - The White Horse: This honky-tonk bar is known for its cheap drinks, live music, and lively atmosphere. A place we would hit up with our friends before our Seattle days. - Cheer Up Charlies: A colorful and iconic LGBTQ+ bar with a great outdoor space, live music, and kombucha on tap. It’s been a staple of the East Austin scene for years. So many SXSW memories here. - Franklin Barbecue - the most famous BBQ spot in Austin - you want to get there early before they sell out for the day! - Hotel Vegas/Volstead - one of our favorite spots to get drinks, go dancing, and see live music. Check out the food trucks across the street after! Juan in a Million - Loved going here for breakfast tacos
