To make your journey as smooth as a sea breeze, we've put together some helpful tips on how to get here. Shoot us a text if you have ANY questions. We can't wait to share Roatan with you!

Flight

Getting To Roatan

Fly Straight to the Island (RTB): We recommend flying straight to the island. This is the easiest and most stress-free option. Several major airlines fly directly to Roatan. Some offer direct flights from DFW to RTB on most Wednesdays and Saturdays. If either of those days don't work for you, flights are offered every day with connections through Miami. You'll land right on the island and be about 30 minutes from the venue!

Where to Stay

West End and West Bay are the two most popular areas to stay. West End is lively and laid-back, with plenty of restaurants, bars, and shops all within walking distance — perfect for guests who want a fun, social vibe. West Bay, in contrast, is known for its stunning beaches, calm turquoise waters, and luxury resorts, ideal for relaxing, snorkeling, or soaking up the sun. Both areas are just a short drive or water taxi apart, making it easy to enjoy the best of both worlds.

Getting Around

Ubers/Lyfts: Ubers and other rideshare apps are not available on the island. Airport Travel: Many hotels and resorts offer airport transportation, so we recommend reaching out to your accommodation in advance to arrange a pickup. If your hotel doesn’t provide transfers, taxis are readily available just outside the airport — they’re convenient and affordable! Rental Cars: We don’t recommend renting a car in Roatán. Roads can be tricky to navigate, and local drivers are much more familiar with the island’s routes. Sit back, relax, and let someone else do the driving while you enjoy the views! Taxis: Taxis are easy to find around Roatán and offer a convenient way to get around the island for a cheap cost. You will be able to use US money or local currency. Water Taxis: Water taxis are a popular and fun convenient way to get around, with quick rides between West End and West Bay for just a few dollars. All hotels/resorts will be able to connect you to the closest water taxi for convenience. Just remember that they do not run after sunset.

Travel Essentials

Travel Documents: All visitors to Roatan must present a passport that's valid for at least six months from the date of travel. Visa requirements may vary depending on your nationality, so please double-check with your local embassy or consulate before you travel. If you're a U.S. national, no visa is required for tourist visits under 90 days. Entry To Honduras: Before entering Honduras, travelers must complete the Pre-Check Immigration Form. After submitting the form, you'll receive a confirmation email, which you should print out and keep with you for your entry to the country. Currency and Payments: The local currency is the Lempira (L), but U.S. dollars are widely accepted at most places, including at Ibagari Hotel. Credit cards are also commonly used. The current approximate exchange rate is $1 USD = L 26.15 Honduran Lempiras (HNL). Language: While the official language is English/Spanish, many locals also speak French and Creole. Don't worry about a language barrier, though you'll find that most people working in tourism speak English fluently.
