How/when do I RSVP?

Answer

Well, you’ve come to the right place. You can RSVP on this very website! Head to the site menu, and you should see an RSVP option located there. Just search for your first and last name and voila! We kindly ask you to RSVP to each event at your earliest convenience. Please RSVP even if you cannot attend.

What will the weather be like?

Answer

Northern VA weather is usually wonderful in the early fall season, with occasional highs of 80 degrees or lows of 60. That being said, be sure to bring a rain jacket and light jacket/shawl in the event of less pleasant weather. The reception (dinner, cake & dancing) will be held indoors.

Can I park at the venue?

Answer

Absolutely! There is ample parking near the main area of Goodstone. Once you go up the drive and see the iconic green Carriage House and Ivy Wall, you’ve made it!

When should I get there on the day of the wedding?

Answer

Please arrive at or shortly after 4:30pm for the Ceremony. It will begin at 5:00pm promptly on Saturday, October 12th. Refreshments will be served for the 30 minutes prior to the Ceremony. NOTE: annual horse races will be taking place in Middleburg, VA on Saturday, October 12th (the day of the wedding). Traffic could be more heavy than usual, so we highly encourage you to allot an extra few minutes for travel time to the wedding venue at Goodstone.

Most importantly, when will we eat?

Cocktail hour will begin immediately after the ceremony concludes at 5:30pm and will feature passed canapés and stationed hors d’ouevres. Reception will follow at 6:30pm with a two course plated dinner. Then cake!

How and when will I make my food selections?

Answer

Glad you asked! The Reception will be a plated dinner, so your food selections are needed in advance. Please make your selections when you RSVP to the event (you should see an RSVP option in the menu header at the top of this page).

Please inquire with us directly on this - there are seating capacity limits for our reception venue that we must be respectful of, and we are already very near the limit!!

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Our venue has seating capacity limits we must be respectful of, meaning we unfortunately cannot guarantee everyone a plus one. Your Invitation will be addressed to the number of individuals we have reserved space for. However, if you think we have left out someone important, please reach out to us directly for our consideration. But please understand that our venue limitations mean our hands might be tied.

Where is the wedding?

All wedding events will take place at Goodstone Inn & Restaurant, 36205 Snake Hill Road, Middleburg, VA, 20117. The ceremony will take place at the Ivy Wall located just out front of the restaurant, with cocktail hour taking place at the pool beyond the Ivy Wall entrance. The reception will be held inside the Goodstone Conservatory.

What if something happens or changes and I can/can’t attend after I have RSVPed?

Will there be dancing?

Oh yeah! Bring your best dancin’ footwear.

What colors should I avoid wearing?

Answer

No white dresses :) For clarification - white shoes, white bag, white button up dress shirt, etc. are all okay!!

Can I take home any centerpieces or decorations?

Answer

You can take home your gorgeously designed gift bags and place cards. Otherwise, please do not take anything without explicit permission from both the bride & groom.

Who do I call in case I get lost on the day of the wedding?

TBD on who your savior will be. Will keep you posted here once they’ve been designated.

Will Sophie and Blue be there?

Answer

We have mutually agreed that our dogs are too chaotic to be included in the wedding, so they will remain home with a sitter. How are they doing, you ask? Fabulous - Sophie still acts like she’s 2 years old and Blue loves life more than any dog (let alone a dog with 3 legs). They (lovingly) battle for our affection daily in our sprawling backyard.
