There are so many reasons we love Kiawah and are so excited to be getting married here. Kaileen's parents have been homeowners on the island since 2019 and prior to that, the Murrays spent many vacations here growing up. Ryan first visited Kiawah for a Thanksgiving trip when we were dating, and we have had countless memories together here since! From bike rides, to golf rounds and pickleball matches, kayaking on the marsh, and many sunset walks, it is truly our happy place. To top it all off, in April of 2025, Ryan planned the most perfect beach proposal and weekend celebration in Kiawah with both of our immediate families. We realized how special it was to share Kiawah with our families that weekend and decided that having a wedding in the same place, with a few more of our favorite people, could only be even better! We truly appreciate all the effort that each of you are putting into coming to celebrate our special day with us. We hope after the weekend, you'll enjoy Kiawah as much as we do!
November on Kiawah is typically mild and comfortable. Daytime temperatures are usually in the mid-60s to low 70s, with cooler evenings in the 50s! Our welcome party and parts of our wedding day will be outside, so please check the weather forecast before packing!
We love your little ones, but our Wedding Day on November 7th will be an adults-only celebration. If you plan to travel with your kids for the weekend, we'd love to have them at the Welcome Party on Friday evening, as mentioned on our schedule page!
Our welcome party at Mingo Point is upscale casual. Think sundresses, polos, buttondowns and blazers, with an outdoor Lowcountry vibe! We recommend comfortable shoes and layers as the event space includes natural pathways and outdoor areas. Our wedding day is formal attire. For dresses, opt for tea-, midi-, or full-length styles. For pants, go for a crisp suit and tie, tuxedo, or a jumpsuit. Our wedding ceremony will be on grass, so please consider this with your footwear & heels.
