Best Man
Maher is Fares' kinder, calmer twin. He lives with his partner, Tori, just across the street from Fares and Ryan in Washington, D.C. As Fares' literal day one, Maher was the person whose approval Ryan most needed to win. Luckily, he's a pretty good judge of character and Ryan passed.
Tori Partridge
Best Woman
Tori is Ryan's (and Fares') best pal and accidental matchmaker. A born community builder, Tori was Ryan's RA who Fares was visiting when Ryan and Fares met. Tori shepherded Ryan through freshman year, convinced him to study multimedia journalism and has been his go-to person ever since.
Jackie Akremi
Fares' Faction
Jackie is Fares' youngest sibling. A brilliant and caring little dude, they live in Kansas City and practice environmental engineering. You'll know Jackie by their contagious laugh, mostly symmetrical eyeliner wings, and devilish Akremi good looks.
Rachel Levi
Ryan's Retinue
Rachel is Ryan's globetrotting, New York-based older sister. Like many older sisters, she wasn't always thrilled about having a younger brother growing up, but Rachel has always been there for Ryan and he couldn't imagine getting married without her.
David Kahan
Fares' Faction
David saved Fares during law school. They sat next to each other in their first class, and their second, and their third. Their first conversation not about school work was at a party where they talked for an hour and a half about the power vacuum left after the dissolution of the Iraqi military. They're a lot of fun at parties.
Adam Callahan
Ryan's Retinue
Adam was Ryan's boss at Mizzou but quickly became one of his dearest friends. Their friendship only deepened once they both left Mizzou, and Adam has continued to be a mentor and friend who Ryan can talk with about anything from the serious to the ridiculous.
Mackenzie Landa
Fares' Faction
Mackenzie was Fares' college roommate (along with Tori) and immediately invited Fares and Ryan into her family. From nicknaming her niece Monroe to sharing major life milestones, Mack is a cornerstone of the Akremi-Levi family pentagram.
Taylor Lower
Ryan's Retinue
Ryan spent many hours hanging out with Taylor at Mark Twain Residence Hall's front desk where Taylor worked when Ryan was an RA in the same building. They lived together senior year, and even though Taylor now lives in Colorado, the two have reunited in Columbia, Mo. every March for a weekend of food, fun and documentary films.
Ethan Morgan
Fares' Faction
Ethan and Fares lived in the same hallway as freshmen at Mizzou and were in many of the same classes, which led to sharing many meals at Dirty Dobbs Hall (iykyk). But their friendship quickly became deeper than that, and Fares credits Ethan with getting him through the trials and tribulations of freshman year without melting into a puddle on the ground.
Matt Zuzolo
Ryan's Retinue
Ryan and Matt went through the Missouri School of Journalism together. Matt lives in New York and visited Ryan often when Ryan lived in California. When the pandemic hit, the two started weekly phone calls that helped both of them stay sane and continue to this day.
Hobey Hauser
Fares' Faction and Ryan's Retinue
Fares worked with Hobey at Laws Residence Hall and suggested Ryan and Hobey drive back to Minnesota together for winter break. Ryan and Hobey talked nonstop through that 7 hour drive, and he's been a constant friend to both ever since.
