You’re going to Camp Cedarcrest! It’s located at 886 Mapledale Rd, Orange, CT. The ceremony and Reception will all take place at the camp so no need to travel around.
Feel free to arrive anytime between 12pm-2:30pm on Saturday, September 15th. Please arrive at or before 2:30pm, the ceremony will begin at 3pm and it takes a few minutes to get to the amphitheater.
Welp, we made it up, so we probably should work on defining it. Probably somewhere between formal and casual since the venue is a summer camp, but it’s still a wedding. The late afternoon ceremony will be at the Amphitheater (weather permitting), which will require a relatively short walk (5-10 minutes) along a gravel path, and the reception is at an outside pavilion. So, shoes are probably the most important consideration. Please wear or bring comfortable, flat footwear. September weather will most likely still be warm but be prepared for dropping temperatures later. This is New England, so god only knows what mid September will be like. Other than that, the choice is yours. As a side note the wedding party is leaning towards formal and they are going to look awesome!
Paper and online RSVP options will be available shortly, check back soon!
There are approximately 14 available cabins sleeping 6 – 8 people each in twin bunkbeds. We will not know how many guests plan to stay in a cabin until all the responses are back so when you RSVP please indicate if you will want a cabin and how many are in your party. It would also be helpful to provide names of any other guests that you would be willing to share a cabin with, if that should become necessary. Once we have that information we will begin assigning cabins.
TBD. There will be a shuttle to and from the Hyatt Place Milford/New Haven where we have a block reserved. Check-in time on Saturday isn’t super convenient for our ceremony time, so please ask about early check-in (or feel free to stay Friday night as well!). The cutoff for reserving block rooms is 8/15/2018.
If you are staying in a cabin you will need twin sized bedding or a sleeping bag and pillow. Travelling from afar and can’t bring bedding? Email me! caitlinroarke@gmail.com. It isn't far to restaurants or a grocery store if you need to pick up food or supplies in the area when you get to the camp. The cabins provide either an inside fireplace or an outside firepit and we will have fire wood available if you want to practice your rustic cooking skills. If you are tent camping you know the drill. Some suggestions: • Wedding attire • Casual stuff • Comfortable walking shoes • Dance shoes • Toiletries • Warm jacket • Bug repellent • Sunscreen • Towels • Sleeping bag • Tent • Flash light • Water bottle • Eating / Cooking utensils • Food / snacks • Drinks
Of course! There is a central bath house with separate women’s and men’s sections. Be sure to bring a towel and your shower stuff if you are staying at the camp. We will have toilet paper and soap and some towels on hand for travelers.
We will have a golf cart and driver available to transport people who may need assistance. It would be helpful to let us know via RSVP if you would like transport to the various areas. Alternatively, we will have someone available at the parking area to coordinate this upon your arrival.
Yes, there’s plenty of parking available for everyone, even overnight guests!
Absolutely! It's encouraged. A beer and wine open bar will be available on Saturday from 4pm-10pm. We will provide some additional beer and wine for the bonfire following the reception however any additional alcohol is BYO. Reminder, please avoid glass bottles where possible!
Please reach out and let me know! Email me at caitlinroarke@gmail.com. We are planning on having some vegetarian options available but would love to know if we need more than expected or if there are any other restrictions we should know about.
