Travel Note

Warning: Penn State Football Weekend

There is a Penn State home football game the same weekend as our wedding. This means that accommodations will be in high demand in the whole region. We encourage people to figure out and book accommodations as soon as they are able to ensure availability. In addition to the options listed here (including a block of rooms at a nearby hotel with shuttle provided), there are a number of wonderful options on AirBNB. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us with any questions about accommodations, as we know the area well and can help you to find the right fit.

Travel Note

A note about driving...

There are a few quirks about the venue location to note when it comes to travel by car. First, there is a large Amish community in the area, and cars share the roads with horse-drawn buggies. Please be mindful of this when coming around blind curves, and be sure to maintain safe distances when passing buggies. Second, the wedding venue is on an incredibly windy road. Please be extra careful when driving, especially at night, and leave extra time. We encourage those staying at the Quality Inn to utilize the shuttles we will provide.

Quality Inn Mill Hall - Lamar

Update: We were able to extend the block of rooms until the end of August. Please call to book a room in the block reserved for the Trexler-Wildermuth Wedding. All rooms have two queen beds and are $161.50 per night. Rooms will be held until June 30th. The hotel offers free Wifi, free hot breakfast, has a fitness center, and is pet friendly for an additional fee. 15 minute drive to venue. We will be providing a shuttle from the hotel to the wedding venue for the ceremony and reception.

Triple Creek Lodge

Triple Creek Lodge is located on the second floor of our favorite coffee shop, IngleBean Cafe. They have four different rooms with a variety of sleeping arrangements. Downstairs is a common area with beautiful stone fireplace and cozy tables inside the coffee shop. Within walking distance in Millheim are Elk Creek Cafe (great restaurant and wonderful beer), a pizza place, an ice cream shop, an art gallery, and a winery.

Lodging at Krislund Camp

Flight

University Park Airport (SCE)

The University Park airport is a wonderful small airport with just a few gates. It is an absolute breeze to fly into and out of, although usually more expensive than the larger airports. They offer nonstop flights to the following locations: ORD, DTW, PHL, IAD, EWR, SFB and PIE. They do offer rental cars there through a number of carriers. While limited taxis, Ubers, or Lyfts are available, we hope you will reach out to us so that we can pick you up or find someone who can. The airport is 38 minutes from the venue, 30 minutes from the Quality Inn, and 24 minutes from Grace and Ryan's house.

There are lots of airport options within three hours of the venue. Airport options would be: Harrisburg Airport (MDT), 1 hour 50 minutes from the venue; Wilkes Barre/Scranton Airport (AVP), 1 hour 55 minutes from venue; Latrobe Airport (LBE), 2 hours 30 minutes from venue; Lehigh Valley Airport (ABE), 2 hours 33 minutes from venue; Pittsburgh Airport (PIT), 3 hours 8 minutes from venue; Philadelphia Airport (PHL), 3 hours 19 minutes from venue. Again, please let us know of your flight plans, as we may be able to connect you from other guests from nearby your destination airport for carpool purposes.
