This roman amphitheatre, perfectly integrated with the urban fabric of Santa Maria Capua Vetere, is the second biggest in size (after the Coliseum in Rome).
A wonder of architecture. Built in the 1700s, it still works!
Together with the whole town of Casertavecchia, this place is a perfectly preserved testimony of the Middle Age in the Caserta area.
Voted the best pizza place in several publications. We can attest to that.
The pizzeria that started the "gourmet revolution" in Italian pizzerias. Located in a very nice town too!
One of the best gelato in town.
Creepy and weird place that shows the very peculiar way the city of Naples conjugated christian religion with superstition.
Here you can see the Cristo Velato and other super cool stuff.
A silent, peaceful haven in the very core of the city.
Voted "the most beautiful metro station in the world". If you go to Naples you'll most likely take the metro anyway, so make sure to look around.
Stand in front of the palace facing the semi-circular columns. In the centre of the piazza are two manned horse statues: close your eyes, start walking on a straight line and try to pass in between the statues: you will not succeed! (Make sure someone is with you so that you don't get run over a scooter).
According to the legend, the castle takes its name from the famous Latin poet Virgil who would have hidden, inside a cage, an enchanted egg: as long as the egg remains unbroken, the castle will hold too.
Enjoy a stroll on the seaside promenade!
THE place for pizza in Naples. Only margherita and marinara available, as it should be.
One of the best place to try sfogliatella. Try both riccia and frolla!
Did you know that pizza can be deep fried? Now you know. Go try it!
Not exactly around the corner, but if you are going to visit Rome, consider also driving some extra miles and checking this ante litteram rendition of Narnia, dating back to the 1500s.
A nice town to visit for a half day trip.
No need for introductions here. Make sure you rent a scooter, you don't want to try going with a car. We did and we enjoyed countless hours of traffic. But the view was still worth it.
Take a ferry and enjoy this beautiful island. Ischia and Procida are also magnificent!
Once again, no need for introductions. Ercolano is also another great place to see if you enjoy archeological sites.
