Question

Will I be expected to wear a mask during the reception?

Answer

The Kansas City area has a mask mandate in effect for all indoor public spaces. Because our reception is a private event, the mandate does not directly apply to our gathering. We will require all unvaccinated guests to wear a mask during the reception, with exception only for when eating + drinking. We appreciate the care taken by each guest to ensure we can protect those we love dearly.

Question

Is this a wedding or a reception?

Answer

Despite the struggles of COVID-19, Russell and Maggie were indeed married on their original date: August 22, 2020 in an intimate outdoor ceremony in upstate New York. August 21, 2021 will serve as part two of the celebration, as we gather (safely) with friends and family to celebrate!

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

We would kindly request your RSVP by August 1, 2021.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes. There is private lot-parking available as well as over 170 unmetered street parking spots in a two-block radius. For a detailed map of parking options or general directions, please contact Maggie or Russell. If you plan on consuming alcoholic beverages we would encourage you to use a car service. Please be safe and plan ahead!

Question

Is the reception at more than one location?

Answer

No. The entire celebration from the cocktail hour, to dinner, to dancing- will take place at The Bride & The Bauer.

Question

What will be served at dinner?

Answer

We are pleased to feature fresh, house-made pastas and sauces courtesy of Cupini's. Dinner will be served family style and will include House Salad, Baguette and Butter, Lasagna, Pasta Primavera, Manicotti, and Chicken Spiedini. Gluten free and vegan options are available at request.

Question

I have a specific food preference. Can I make a special request?

Answer

Yes! Please let Russell & Maggie know if you have specific dietary preferences or needs. (ie: food allergy, vegan, etc) We will, of course, have vegetarian options available as well for all eaters.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

There is no specific dress code for our celebration. Come in something cocktail-casual and comfortable enough to dance in.

Question

Shall I bring a gift for the couple with me?

Answer

Because the couple is based in New York, they would ask that gifts are purchased through the registry. This will prevent them from arranging shipments to bring gifts back to their home. All registry gifts will automatically be sent to the couple's permanent residence. Cards and small gifts are welcome at the event if you feel inclined.
