On a cold winter night Maggie was out adventuring the Lower East Side of Manhattan with her best friend, Tracy. Instead of heading home, Tracy insisted "one more bar and then we'll get pizza", and the promise of pizza was enough for Maggie to tag along for a final bar. They entered a narrow dive bar, Old Man Hustle, lovingly known as "The Hustle" to regulars like Russell's brother, Ian. Around 1am or so in this small, narrow bar, Tracy was having a blast dancing and drinking while Maggie (who was oddly enough sober on this occasion) was simply practicing patience and waiting to leave for the sake of pizza. While standing at the bar, the 1990s playlist began playing K-Ci and JoJo "All my Life". Little did Russ know that this song would ignite conversation that would change everything. You see, this song was Maggie's first "love song" with an unrequited 7th grade schoolmate. "It's ok Drew Scanlon. I didn't want to go to the 7th grade dance with you anyway", she spoke to the random guy right of her. Russ turned to his left and replied "Well I'm really glad you're over it now." After late night conversation and nudges of butterflies, it was finally time for the ladies to head out in search of a slice. Sick of waiting for men to initiate the traditional "can I get your number" move, Maggie had a new idea. "Let's play a game", she said to Russ while opening a new blank contact screen on her phone. "I'm going to let you put any name and any phone number you want into my phone. Tomorrow I'll text and find out if it's really you. That way, if you're not interested, it's an easy way of rejecting me." Turns out, Russell Kent gave Maggie Gremminger his real name and phone number (and the rest is history).
