Vidhi / Grah Shanti

9:00 am - 2:00 pm

In Indian culture, turmeric holds a special place of honor. It is known for its anti-inflammatory and other healing properties, because of which it has become popular as a medicine as well. The vidhi ceremony is the one in which a paste of turmeric is applied to the bride and the groom’s body before their wedding. Join us for a pre-wedding ritual where a turmeric paste is applied to the bride and groom! Grah Shanti is a ceremony in which the blessing of all nine planets of the solar system is sought by both the bride's and groom's family. A traditional Gujarati lunch will be served.

Catholic ceremony

10:30 am - 5:00 pm

The Catholic wedding ceremony will take place at Church of St. Joan of Arc. Catholic weddings are beautiful, symbolic and full of wedding ceremony rituals. It traditionally includes a full mass and communion alongside with Filipino touches to the ceremony. ***The ceremony will start promptly at 11AM.*** A Filipino American lunch and mini reception (including a money dance!) will follow the ceremony at the Indian Cultural Center.

Garba / Sangeet

5:00 pm - 10:00 pm

The word “Sangeet “ means music, but when it is used as a term to describe a celebratory event during an Indian wedding it translates to Music Night or Musical party. This musical night is a celebration of the union of not only the couple but the bonding of both families. Lets garba the night away!

Baraat

9:00 am - 10:00 am

The Baraat is the entrance of the groom prior to the wedding ceremony. This will take place outdoors at 9:00AM. Rukil will be dancing his way to the bride's family and he will be accompanied by his family, friends, and our DJ. Join the groom for his festive approach toward the bride's family with music and dancing!
