Durango County Airport (DRO)

Durango's airport is about an hour South of Purgatory Resort. It will be a bit more expensive but there is a shuttle service and the more people who arrive at the same time the lower the cost will be.

Montrose Regional Airport (MTJ)

Montrose is approximately 2 hours North of Purgatory Resort and is an absolutely stunning mountain drive in September. If you're thinking about renting a car and are open to a little bit further of a drive with a cheaper flight, choose this flight and enjoy the views on your way in. *This is a mountain drive and will have narrow lanes with no barriers. If you don't feel comfortable, consider flying to Durango or Albuquerque. Personally, it is not that scary or bad but if you're concerned, look up the Million Dollar Highway between Montrose and Durango.*

Albuquerque (ABQ)

Albuquerque will be the cheapest option and have the most options for rental cars, but is almost a 4 hour drive to Purgatory Resort.

CHEAPER THAN YOU THINK. Staying at the resort is cheaper than you think because September is their off season and is right in line with the other hotels in the area. They have multiple options including studios with a kitchen up to mutli-room suites with a kitchen and living room that are cheaper if you're sharing with others. We will be staying in Purgatory Lodge, which is connected to the reception area but you can choose whatever works best for you. Use Heibel for 15% off 2 nights or less. Camping - Junction West Durango Riverside

There are plenty of camping options in the area if you plan on camping. We stayed in one of their cabins for a couple of nights and it was nice.
