The Wedding Website of Ross Thomason and Lander Arrieta
Getting to San Sebastian We suggest flying into San Sebastian (EAS) or Bilbao (BIO). There are no direct flights from the United States, however, most flight itineraries only require one stop. San Sebastian’s airport is about 30 min. from the city center, but it is small with a limited number of flights. Bilbao’s airport is about 60 min. from San Sebastian, but it is larger and serviced by all major airline alliances. Getting from either airport is easiest done by car (rental or for hire), however, there are public transit options available. Getting around San Sebastian San Sebastian is a highly walkable city. It is very pedestrian and bicycle friendly with the majority of “must see” attractions within a short walk from one another. Rideshare apps do not operate within San Sebastian. Taxis may be hired at dedicated taxi stands or via phone. Transportation to and from wedding events will be provided. See below for our wedding hotel with reserved blocks and suggestions:

Travel Note

Explore the Region

Travel the Basque Coast: one potential day trip -- a fave for us! -- is travelling west along the coast and stopping into small coastal towns like Getaria, Zarautz, Ondarroa, and Lekeitio. Each of these has its own flavor of Basque cuisine and culture. - The Basque Country straddles both Spain and France. Consider exploring the French side! St. Jean de Luz and Biarritz are incredible coastal towns with lots to see, eat, and drink. - The Rioja wine region borders the Basque Country to the south. We recommend a tasting at Bodegas Ysios and exploring nearby Laguardia. Make a night or two of it before or after the wedding. We recommend staying at Hotel Marques de Riscal.
