Pintxos in Old Town
Pintxos (a variation of "tapas" served elsewhere in Spain) are a way of life in San Sebastián. Translated to "stick," simply order by pointing or telling the bartender what you'd like. You're charged based on number of sticks you have at checkout. Often, pintxos are eaten while standing at a high top or in the streets with a tinto or cerveza. Crowds flood the streets on Thursdays, specifically, as pintxos and drinks are discounted to about 2 euros each. Find your favorite!

Explore San Sebastian's finest in the center. Meander from store to store just south of La Concha and very close to Old Town.

Pub Pokhara is great for an easy night with friends. Enjoy patio seating and great music. The vibes here are very Brooklyn meets the Basque country.
Visit the Guggenheim Bilbao
Credited with revitalizing Bilbao as a cultural center, the Guggenheim Bilbao is a must-do if you're passing through the city. Exhibitions rotate regularly. Situated along the river, be sure to spend just as much time outside the museum as you do inside!
Visit the Museo Cristóbal Balenciaga
In nearby Getaria, spend a few hours at the Cristóbal Balenciaga museum. Attached to Balenciaga's childhood home, the museum is perfectly situated in the middle of town. Make it a full morning or afternoon by dining at one of the nearby restaurants. Elkano was famously featured in one of Anthony Bourdain's final episodes of Parts Unknown.
