To ensure the safety of all attending and working our wedding at the highest possible level, we currently intend to require proof of full vaccination from all our guests. The vaccines are free, safe, and the most effective way to protect yourself and others from catching and/or spreading this dangerous illness. Everyone is encouraged to receive a vaccine booster as well, but boosters are not required to be considered fully vaccinated. We will clearly communicate any further or changing requests or guidelines as the wedding approaches. Thank you for your respect for the health and safety of our friends, family, vendors, and local communities.
Our wedding is a formal affair, so suits and floor-length or elegant cocktail dresses are most appropriate. Please note that, in spite of the castle atmosphere, there is no "theme" for attire; in other words, costumes should not be worn. Additionally, white and ivory colors should be reserved solely for the bride!
Both the ceremony and reception will be hosted indoors, but guests will have the ability to visit the cliffside lawn that overlooks the ocean if they'd like to enjoy some fresh air throughout the evening!
We are hosting an "unplugged" ceremony and kindly ask that you refrain from taking your own photos during that time to maximize the capabilities of our very talented hired photographer, whose photos we will happily share after our wedding. This is a great opportunity to be fully present as we share in this incredibly special moment in our lives with all of you! After the ceremony, feel free to take as many photos throughout the wedding and of the Museum as you'd like. Please note that flash photography is not permitted.
Yes, and we're so glad that you are interested in doing so! During the reception, there will be opportunities for you to take a 20-minute educational tour throughout the Museum if you so choose. We hope you fall as much in love with Hammond Castle and its unique history as we have!
Passed hors d'oeuvres include a Grilled Shrimp Tortellini Skewer with Pesto Cream Dip, Prosciutto-Wrapped Honeydew Melon with a Balsamic Drizzle, Cocktail Meatballs with Marinara Sauce, and a Vegetarian Antipasto Skewer. A plated Panzanella will serve as the first course. Buffet entrées will include Grilled Sirloin Steak with Port Demi-Glace, Grilled Swordfish in a Lemon-Butter Artichoke Sauce, and Gnocchi with Mushrooms and Grilled Vegetables in a Garlic Herb Cream Sauce as the vegetarian option. Roasted Fingerling Potatoes and Green Beans Almondine will be offered on the side. Please inform us of any personal dietary restrictions when you respond to the forthcoming formal invitation so that we can accommodate them accordingly.
Due to the capacity limitations of our historically-significant venue as well as the service of alcohol throughout the evening, our ceremony and reception are adults-only events. With respect for our guests attending from out-of-state who wish to travel to New England with their children, please do not hesitate to reach out to us if you would like assistance with finding care for the evening of the wedding. We appreciate your understanding!
If your invitation indicates a plus-one designation, then we can't wait to meet your special guest! Otherwise, due to the venue's capacity restrictions, we can only honor attendance for those who are named on the invitation. We appreciate your understanding!
