It all started in 2019 in Denver Colorado with a swipe right on a dating app called Bumble. After some back-and-forth they planned a date. Rosie suggested a little taco spot near her place. The night of the would-be date, Mike, using Google Maps, was sure that the taco joint in question was closed permanently. Rosie, using Apple Maps, an inferior app, insisted it was there and functioning. Mike, trusting that Rosie would not lead him astray, took an Uber to the address, only to find himself standing outside a very closed restaurant in half a foot of snow in the middle of January. Rosie, already running late and realizing her mistake, rushed over to rescue him. From there, their first date turned into a spontaneous adventure, hopping from one bar/restaurant to another, even stopping to play pool. The rocky start didn’t matter, they were laughing, talking effortlessly, and sparks flew. From that very first, chaotic, night, they both knew something about this was different. Like the universe had its own plan, bad directions and all. They proceeded to spend every waking moment together. They said “I love you” within the first month and were living together by the third month. Some would say it was too fast but sometimes when you know, you just know. Seven years later, the honeymoon phase never ended, they enjoy each other’s company, they are best friends and love each other deeply.
