Visiting the Outer Beach is Hayley and Daniel's favorite activity by far!! The Outer Beach consists of sandy islands only available by boat. It is a part of the Cape Cod National Seashore so there are no homes, just sandy beach as far as the eye can see. You can get to the outer beach for free if you are a resort guest of the Wequassett - just call Down Cape Boat Rentals to reserve a seat on their shuttle. If you are not staying at the Wequassett, we recommend Beachcomber Boats in Chatham ($25, call 508-945-5265) or Outermost Harbor (call to inquire at 508-945-2030). https://sealwatch.com https://outermostharbor.com/services/boat-to-beach-shuttle/
Located at the Wequassett Resort and open to the public! Rent power boats, sail boats, kayaks, and paddle boards. Hayley worked at Down Cape Boat Rentals (formerly known as Nauti Jane's) every summer teaching sailing lessons, driving power boats, and kayaking around Pleasant Bay. Stop by the Shack and say hello to the owner Kris! Make sure to call ahead and reserve your boat rental at least three weeks in advance.
The Wequassett restaurants and bars are open to the public! Stop by for a meal and explore the resort. We recommend "The Outer Bar and Grille" or standing at the beachside bar "LiBAYtion." Note: Visitors are welcome to walk around the property but the pool and beach areas are for guests only.
This is a great rainy day activity. You can park in the lot near The Black Dog, and stroll down Main St towards Buffy's Ice Cream Shop.
The beach is free to access! However, parking is available for a fee. Grab a beach towel and enjoy the views of the Atlantic.
The Beachcomber, located in the dunes on Cahoon Hollow Beach, offers a panoramic view of the Atlantic Ocean. The stunning dunes of the Beachcomber cannot be missed! This is a go-to spot that we always bring visitors for dinner and drinks overlooking the Atlantic.
