Travel

Many (most?) of you are flying in to be with us and we VERY MUCH APPRECIATE IT! If you have the time and budget, we strongly encourage exploring the Bay Area for a few extra days for the stunning natural beauty and have put additional recommendations under the Things To Do section.

Flight

How to get here

FLYING: OAK (Oakland) airport is the closest to the wedding festivities, but SFO (SF Bay Area) airport has excellent public transit up to East Bay and has the best airport vibes (plants and ambient lighting at the gates? yes please) Avoid flying into SJC (San Jose) as it's pretty far away and not directly connected to transit. AMTRAK (respect, Roger already loves you): you will want to arrive into either Emeryville or Jack London Square.

Travel Note

Getting Around

There is a strong public transit in the East Bay, so renting a car is not necessary at all unless you intend to venture further afield to Napa, Sonoma, Point Reyes, etc. To use the transit system: 1) Download the Clipper card into your phone wallet (if we've already lost you here, you can also buy a physical tap card at the airport or train stations) and add funds. A single fare is $2.50. 2) Tap to pay using your credit card or phone 3) Cold hard cash (single fare is $2.75) Transportation to the venue: sadly there is no bus that goes directly to UC Botanical Gardens, but Uber/Lyft is under $10/each way from downtown Berkeley. You can also walk it, but be prepared for a steep climb!

Where to Stay

We have reserved a hotel block at ____. We also recommend AirBnB options in Berkeley/Oakland which may be cheaper depending on when you book.
