Please RSVP no later than July 31st.
Please arrive between 2:30-3:00 to allow time for parking and getting to the Meadow. There will be the opportunity to spend a few moments at our welcome tent taking part in brief arrival rituals to help you drop in to the sacred experience. We anticipate the ceremony will begin at 3:30.
We're blessed with a big family and a bounty of friends...And a limited reception space. Your invitation envelope will list everyone we have room for, and unfortunately plus-ones beyond that can't be accommodated. If you're not sure (or already recycled your envelope) feel free to reach out to Drew at 970-317-0471 to clarify.
Public parking is available near the Main Lodge, and somewhat limited. The public parking is a short (approximately 5-minute) walk along a road to the Meadow Ceremony site. The reception will take place in the Main Lodge building. Shuttle service from the Main Lodge to the Meadow will be arranged for those with limited mobility. Restrooms are available inside the Main Lodge. All condos at Cascade Village include covered parking near your unit. It is approximately a 10-minute walk to the Meadow from the condos at the far end of the village
Wear whatever makes you feel elegant & elven for our enchanted forest experience. The ceremony will be held outside, with dinner and dancing inside. Afternoon and evening temperatures can range from 40 to 70 this time of year, so sunscreen is recommended and a light jacket or shawl might come in handy.
Yes! Our entire menu at the welcome party and reception will be gluten and dairy free. The RSVP forms will provide a space for dietary restrictions, and we are happy to accommodate your needs. Please also let us know if you prefer a vegetarian entree option.
Staying in a condo at Cascade Village will allow for a walkable weekend of festivities. The next closest options are at Purgatory a couple miles down the road and various privately owned homes listed on VRBO. Otherwise, we recommend the hotels on the north end of town in Durango, which are a 30-minute drive from the venue. Check out the Travel page of our website for links to the Cascade Village condo reservation pages.
We will be celebrating our union with a short contra dance immediately following the ceremony, in the pond and picnic area near the Main Lodge. The Fractal String Band will play lively music and caller Deb Comley will provide a brief teaching session for the first 15 minutes, followed by 45 minutes of dancing. No dance experience needed. Fun and laughter guaranteed! Read more about contra dancing here: https://www.durangoherald.com/articles/durango-contra-dance-no-need-to-be-a-wallflower/ ** If you're local to Durango, we would love for you to attend the next monthly Contra dance on September 20th to brush up your skills. Ask Drew for more details!
Please leave the little ones at home. Our wedding has been planned as an adults-only event.
The nearest airport is DRO, a lovely little regional airport. It is approximately a 30-minute drive to Durango, and a 1-hour drive to the event venue and condos at Cascade Village.
Transportation between Durango and the venue will not be provided. Ride services such as Uber or Lyft may/may not be available, if they are it would probably be fairly pricey to get to and from Durango. If you need help figuring out transportation or are interested in coordinating a carpool, please reach out to Drew at 970-317-0471.
Beverages will include mocktails to honor Drew and Eric's alcohol-free lifestyle, coffee and tea, and beer and wine. Please make sure to designate a driver if you will be imbibing and aren't staying onsite at Cascade Village.
