The Wedding Website of Robert Ansel and Molly Vorwerck
Meet the special friends and family helping us mark this milestone occasion!

Molly Vorwerck

Bride

Molly is a Newport Beach native, Stanford grad, and Head of Content for Monte Carlo, a data startup based in San Francisco. When she's not writing about software, you can find her binge-watching the Great British Baking Show, listening to Elvis records, and collecting Life Magazines. As Robert says lovingly: "She was born old."

Robert Ansel

Groom

Robert hails from Corpus Christi, Texas, and graduated from Duke University with an Engineering degree. He's currently a Reliability Engineer at Slack, a workplace communication platform, making sure the site doesn't break unexpectedly. When he's not coding (or talking about coding), Robert obsesses over home automation, enjoys camping with his family, and tolerates Molly's obscure taste in '50s rock. All of that said, fully half of his friends don't know his name isn't Ransel.

Alix Fitch

Maid of Honor

Alix has been Molly's right hand woman since first grade, from the Super Duper Magic Girls to college and beyond. Molly literally couldn't imagine walking down the aisle without her.

Suvayan Roy

Best Man

Robert and Suvayan (affectionately known as Savage) first met in their freshman dorm at Duke in 2011, and they've been fast friends ever since. Savage has always been the reliable partner in crime, travel companion and enthusiastic friend Robert always needed.

Samantha Murray

Maid of Honor

Sam and Molly met in Kindergarten and bonded over their love of cartoons, exploring her parents' backyard for gnomes, and writing obscure songs for our middle school teachers. Weirdos!

Jason Oettinger

Best Man

Jason, more often known as Toolbox to his friends, and Robert (okay, Ransel) have been working together on side projects for the last 10 years. Over the last decade they've built everything from mobile apps to a 3d-printing student lab (sometimes at the expense of their class work). Over these countless all-nighters, debugging sessions and gnarly projects, Toolbox and Ransel have gotten to know the way the other thinks, works and perseveres and are always up to iron out the next conundrum together.

Patricia Ho

Bridesmaid

Best friends since college, Molly and Patty met each other in their freshman dorm (FloMo) at Stanford and were inseparable ever since. Travel buddies, SF roomies, 30 Rock super fans, and the Bay Area's most enthusiastic aficionados of wine and cheese, they're truly two peas in a pod. Patty is the Maid of Friendship.

Patrick Vorwerck

Groomsman

Bert and Ernie. Martin and Lewis. Abbott and Costello. Rarely have there been a more iconic duo than Molly and her twin brother, Patrick. Older than Molly by just six minutes, Patrick has always been Molly's voice of reason, patience, understanding, and random sports trivia. It goes without saying that as far as brothers go, she lucked out. :)

Annie Osborn

Bridesmaid

Molly and Annie met when they were blindly paired as freshman year roommates at Stanford, and immediately bonded over their love of poking fun at 19th century literature, devouring pop culture news, gawking at British actors that look like they have pneumonia, and binge-watching trashy TV shows. Since then, they've explored China, the Twin Cities, and everywhere in between. Annie is the Maid of Adventure.

Jesse Bandeen

Groomswoman

Robert and Jesse have known each other since their freshman year in college, but the day they really connected was the day they realized that Robert wanted to play all the parts of the video games that Jesse didn't (yes, it was all the boring parts). Jesse has been a steadfast friend ever since, always willing to both talk and listen with Robert when others might not have been willing.

Kathleen Chaykowski

Bridesmaid

Kathleen and Molly met while Kathleen was Editor-in-Chief of the Stanford Daily and Molly was a Features Editor, quickly bonding over their love of literature and journalism. Once both moved to San Francisco, they spent many weekends hiking Mount Sutro, trying the hottest new brunch places, and traversing wine country in search of the finest ports (at a reasonable price point, of course). Kathleen is the Maid of Compassion.

Michael Ansel

Groomsman

Robert and Michael have always been birds of a feather. Michael liked computers, so Robert dabbled with them too! Michael got an engineering degree, so Robert got one too! Michael went to work at Box... so Robert did too! Finally, Michael and Robert went their separate ways as Michael moved into the security field at Amazon, and Robert settled for Reliability engineering at Slack instead.

Louisa Lu

Bridesmaid

Lulu and Molly met at Stanford, where they lived across the way from each other in Crothers Memorial Hall. They quickly bonded over weekly dinners in Casa, swapping stories about our crushes, and study sessions in Green Library, despite never having taken a class together. Lulu is the Maid of Curiosity.

Douglas Ansel

Groomsman

Robert's known Douglas for as long as he can remember. Come to think of it, it kind of seems like he could never quite get rid of him! I guess that's what you get having brothers.

Beatrice Schuster

Bridesmaid

Bea and Molly met in high school when they both joined the Sage Hill School Literary Magazine (AKA LitMag). Through weekly Panera editing sessions, a mutual love of cats, and shared obsession with grammar, the two became fast friends. Bea is the Maid of Loyalty.

Chris Cowart

Groomsman

Robert met Chris during his internship at Box in his college years. Robert and Chris have shared many an adventure, and Chris has been a mentor in Robert's career with a constant supply of advice and assistance.

Savannah Perkins

Bridesmaid

Savannah and Molly met in high school in Newport Beach, but didn't become good friends until a few years later when Savannah moved into 39 Fair Oaks Street, Molly's first apartment out of college. Savannah and Molly spent the next 5 years exploring San Francisco's hipster coffee scene, commiserating over their jobs in tech, and fawning over Martha Stewart's Instagram account. Savannah is the Maid of Style.

Michael P. Kaelin

Groomsman

Robert and Michael have known each other since they rushed together in Chi Psi Fraternity in 2011. Ever since, fully 90% of what Robert has learned about history has been directly attributable to his discussions with Michael. With neighboring rooms for most of college, Robert and Michael have shared a brotherhood and stories that very few others can match.
