The Balboa Fun Zone will transport you straight into the past, with vintage arcades, a classic ferris wheel, bumper cars, and Duffy boats! Since 1936, the Fun Zone has been a Newport Beach staple, offering visitors of all ages a wealth of activities and fast-casual dining options centered around the Newport's culinary crown jewel: seafood!
Nestled in a cove, Little Corona, Molly's favorite Newport "beach," is a hidden gem! Little Corona escapes the heavy foot traffic of the Balboa Peninsula, making it one of the locals' favorite place for a walk on the beach, tide pooling, and taking scenic photos. If you're one for the beach, you don't want to miss it!
Crystal Cove State Park is just a 10-minute drive from the venue and offers some of the best views in all of Southern California. Park at the Crystal Cove Shopping Center, cross PCH, and mosey along one of the park's various hiking trails down to the beach. Don't forget your sunscreen!
No trip to Orange County would be complete without a visit to see Mickey and Minnie! Located about ~30 minutes away from the venue, Disneyland is a must for families with young children, or anyone who wants to pretend they're a kid again. Want the rides but don't care about the Mouse? Check out the California Adventure amusement park just across the way. Some of our favorite rides at both parks include: Space Mountain, Thunder Mountain Railroad, and Soarin' over California! In our humble opinion, the best food you'll get at either park is Rancho del Zocalo in Frontierland, across the way from the Jungle Cruise. Want to capture the Disney magic but not a fan of rides or lines? Check out Downtown Disney, located between the parks, for a smorgasbord of Disney-themed shopping and food!
If tranquility is what you're going for, be sure to check out Sherman Library and Gardens, just a stone's throw from the venue in historic Corona del Mar. Bring a book, snag a spot to sit on the lawn, and relax in the shade of palm trees and tropical flowers!
Craving some authentic SoCal Mexican? Check out El Cholo, home to some of the best enchiladas this side of the Colorado River and a mean selection of margaritas.
This is a Newport classic! Park on PCH, order yourself a date shake, and take in the breathtaking beachside views.
Come for the coffee, stay for the donuts! If you're craving a quick treat, Rose's is not to be missed.
