We suggest that our guests fly into the Milan Malpensa Aiport (MXP). There are many direct flights out of Chicago to Milan! We will send out text blasts when we book our flights and when good deals become available.
Upon arriving in Milan, you can get to Stresa via train, rental car or private transfer. Please see our "Travel" tab for more information & links.
We understand that traveling to Italy is daunting and not practical for everyone. If you are planning on coming, we would love to have you during any part of the weekend! The Welcome Drink will be on Friday, May 22nd, with the wedding following on Sunday, May 24th. We will be hosting other events during the week if you choose to arrive earlier. More to come!
To enter Italy, all you need is a valid U.S. passport, which must be valid for at least 3 months beyond your intended stay. No visa is required!
Yes! There are a couple of different hotel options for our guests under the Travel tab. We also recommend checking out Airbnb and VRBO as they have good options if you prefer.
Weather permitting, the ceremony and cocktail hour will be held outdoors on the lawn of the villa. The dinner reception and dancing will be held indoors. The Welcome Drink boat ride will be indoors/outdoors and the Welcome Drink at Hotel la Palma will be outdoors.
The dress code for the wedding day celebration is Black Tie Optional. The bridesmaid dress color is butter yellow. For attire inspo, please see: https://pin.it/5lAKJiInk
While we adore your little ones, this is an adults-only occasion with the exception of close family and friends. Please see the names listed on your invitation.
At the end of May on Lake Maggiore, temperatures average around 70 degrees each day. Evenings are cooler, dropping into the 50 degree range, so light jackets are recommended. The town itself is very flat and walkable, but there are some cobblestone streets so comfortable walking shoes are always best!
The local currency in Italy (and most of Europe) is the Euro. Most places in Italy accept all major US credit cards. Please check your credit card policies to make sure additional fees will not be charged, and let your credit card company know your travel dates so they don't assume fraud. If you would like to have some cash on hand, we recommend going to your bank before departure to request Euros as currency exchanges abroad usually tack on additional fees. Currency rates fluctuate daily, however a good baseline is 1 USD = 0.86 Euro.
