This is obviously one of Cam’s favorite places and a place Robbie and Cam frequent together. Cam and her family will be going June 22nd & 23rd. Robbie will probably join for some or all of that time. Feel free to join us, or if you’re going at the same time, let’s meet up and grab a churro!
Ok so this one is a little farther away, BUT they did just get new Giant Pandas! The Safari Park especially is one of Cameron’s favorite things, they do so much work with the animals in terms of enrichment and training! Did you know they clicker train almost all of their animals?? Especially in husbandry behaviors so that they can do those procedures force free? So cool. Highly recommend catching a presentation on that there. Keep in mind that the zoo and the Safari Park are not right next to each other, it is not a Disneyland park hopping situation.
The Ocean Institute (our wedding venue) is in the harbor and is an ocean education organization that can be visited with touch tanks, etc., but there’s a ton of other stuff to do in that area as well! They have harbor activities (like boating and paddleboarding), dolphin and whale watching, and express ferries to Catalina Island. Also, Baby Beach is a nice lil beach!
The area of Newport Beach covers a lot of ground, so we’ll narrow down our favorites. We highly recommend taking a walk around Balboa Island, taking Huck was one of our first dates! Corona Del Mar State Beach is one of the more popular ones. You could also visit Fashion Island, their very luxury outdoor mall.
Old Towne Orange is California’s largest historic district. With lots of antique in & thrift shops, restaurants, and bars, there’s tons of stuff to do. At the Circle, Robbie and Cam are most likely to be found at Bruxie, Paul’s, or The District (in our much younger days).
Irvine Regional is more than just a park. There’s playgrounds, a train, a zoo, and pony rides, as well as bike, paddle boat, and horse rentals. There’s also some quality hiking to be done over there, it’s one of Huck’s favorite spots to go!
If you’re a fan of outdoor malls, the Spectrum has everything from shops to arcades to Ferris Wheels!
