Best Man
Tim and I have known each other since the 2nd grade, when we started playing baseball together and undoubtedly drove our teacher just short of batty with a litany of fart noises and giggle fits. We haven't looked back since. He's my brother through and through - the kind of brother who destroys his front fender on a Zaxby's dumpster and calls me instead of his dad; the kind of brother who drags me out of late night pizza joints by my collar so I don't come over the counter at the 44 year-old towny working the cash register whom I feel has egregiously disrespected me. I can't say where I'd be without Tim. I can say I'd have one less arrest to my name though - and that my life would be a lot less rich.
Best Man
If you don't know Jonathan, you soon will. And boy will he have some stories for you. To say he lives life to the fullest is a gross understatement. More apt is to say he's seen some crazy stuff - and done even crazier. I've personally witnessed him narrowly escape death at least twice, talked him out of doing something that would have, at best, resulted in mangled limbs and at worst his total dismemberment more than once, and plunged headlong into harms way for an unforgettably good time with him more times than I care to count. Do yourself a favor and get to know this guy. He's the kind of guy who could sell a ketchup popsicle to a woman in white gloves. I'm proud to call him my brother, and even prouder to have him beside me on my wedding day.
Groomsman
By strict definition, Drew is Sarah's younger brother. And our relationship could easily have plateaued there - future family by default, friendly with each other but nothing much more. That's not how it went though. Drew and I hit it off from the start, and I can say with utter confidence that even had Sarah and I not ended up together forever, he and I would have remained good friends nonetheless. The only guy I know who might enjoy having a few beers in the sun at any given backyard bar in Brooklyn even more than I do, I can always count on him to wax philosophical with me about the merits and pitfalls of a certain Joe Rogan, teach me why Spike Jonze is a living legend, and help me alienate everyone in the room by speaking only in Chris D'Elia quotes. A brother in the truest sense.
Groomswoman
There is nothing I could say about Ben Sidoti that would do meeting and getting to know him justice. Poets of masterful craftsmanship couldn't pen words about him nearly as beautiful as the man himself. He's got a heart of gold, an infectious personality, and an unparalleled drive to make the world a better place. I speak for everyone who knows him when I say that we are all richer for having him in our lives. Fellow lover of all things whiskey (but especially whisky), I can talk to the guy about literally anything - music, sports, environmentalism, local politics, philosophy, dad rock, whether or not Man United fans deserve to be referred to as "human beings." I've learned a lot from him, but perhaps the most important thing he's taught me is how to have a proper perspective on life.
Groomsman
A man after my own heart, the pride of the Conquistadors, few can get my creativity flowing like the inimitable Kyle Spain (usually with the help of a beer...or three). One of the only people I've met with an affinity for the horror genre and a fascination with the sublime that rivals my own. And the absolute only person I know who can have the building he lives in condemned (by no fault of his own), be told he has to move out almost immediately, and through the entire saga remain as upbeat as ever. There's no one I'd rather chat books and Braves with in the same breath. Chicago got a good one when he abandoned me in NYC for the Windy City.
Groomsman
Hibbs and I go back to middle school - to gifted classes in the trailers and driving Mr. Fifer so insane he started referring to himself in the third person; to summer weekends at Jonathan's house where we'd oscillate between backyard football, 2 on 2 basketball, dips in the pool, waffles (which, as everyone knows, are best made with cheap pancake batter), NCAA football and Friday night standup (back when Comedy Central actually did that sort of thing). Even back then we all knew John was destined for nothing short of greatness. It's exceedingly rare that he's not the smartest person in the room - even rarer that he's not the goofiest. While living in different boroughs in NYC sometimes feels like living states apart, I couldn't be happier to have John here in the city with me.
