Before you show everyone your best dance moves, it might be best to get to know them first! We would love for you to join us the day before the wedding for a relaxed braai with family and friends at the atmospheric Old Oak Brewery, right next to the main venue. The evening is dedicated to catching up with the bride and groom, getting to know your fellow guests, and enjoying some good music, cold beers, and delicious food before the big celebrations begin. A few notes for the night: RSVP: If you’ll be joining us, please let us know in advance so we can cater accordingly. Contribution: As the braai is catered, we kindly ask for a contribution of R100 per person (don’t worry, the kids eat for free!). Payment: Please see the banking details and payment date on our Accommodation Page. Drinks: The brewery will have a cash bar available for all your craft beer and refreshment needs.

Our celebration will take place at the beautiful Silver Sixpence, surrounded by nature and the stunning views of the Highlands Meander. For our big day, please visit the Wedding Attire page to view our preferred colour scheme and a few "do's and don’ts." Since we will be at a high altitude, the nights can become quite cool (even in Spring), so we suggest bringing something warm to ensure you can enjoy the evening comfortably. The venue also has ample fireplaces, and fires will be lit early to keep things cozy! For those who are unable to physically attend, we don’t want you to miss out! We will be organizing a livestream of the ceremony and the speeches so you can celebrate with us from wherever you are. Please check back closer to the date for the link and further details. We will also be sending out personal messages to those who cannot attend with more information on how to tune in.

Our ceremony will be held in a forest clearing, a scenic 6–10 minute walk from the main venue. To help us stay on schedule, please allow yourself ample time to wander to the clearing and be seated; the ceremony will begin promptly at 2:30 PM. As the path to the ceremony is a forest path, we recommend wearing comfortable and suitable footwear for the short stroll through the woods. We look forward to sharing this sacred moment with you!
Time to Celebrate!

After we say our "I Do's", the celebration will move to the Reception hall, where we will kick off the celebrations. After 5 years of knowing each other we think we've cracked the code on how to enjoy yourself: Good food + good music + the courage to dance like no one is watching (this is why the Friday Braai is so important!). So help us test the theory and celebrate with the new Mr. and Mrs. von Solms! A few notes for the night: The Bar: A cash bar will be available throughout the evening for all your refreshment needs. Last Call: To respect the venue’s magic and their staff, the party will wrap up at 12:00 AM, and the venue's gates close at 12:30 AM. After-Hours: For those not quite ready to call it a night, you are more than welcome to keep the spirits high back at your own accommodation!

Please note that breakfast or brunch will not be available at the wedding venue the morning after the celebrations. We ask that everyone coordinates with their respective groups regarding where and when they’ll be grabbing their morning coffee and recovery fuel! We kindly ask that guests staying at The Silver Sixpence checks out and departs the venue by 10:00 AM. Keep an eye out: We may decide to pick a local spot to gather for breakfast together (at each guest's own expense). If we do, we’ll be sure to send out a message!
