Soooo as embarrassing as it is we will start and say YES we met on a dating app. Dalton & I both went to Clemson University (if you know either of us you know I probably didn’t have to point that out haha). At Clemson we had every opportunity to meet and just never did. Freshman year I was dating his neighbor in his dorm, Sophomore year we sat BESIDE each other in a class for a whole semester, and Junior year we lived 3 houses down from each other. It wasn’t until I moved to Charlotte in 2018 when both of our friends convinced us to download Hinge and ~put ourselves out there~. To be completely honest of course we both saw the Clemson attire and swiped. I actually cancelled on Dalton so many times until I finally agreed to let him come over. When he first came over I warned him that my dog was super aggressive and much to my surprise when he walked in my dog liked him more than he liked me (and still does). We watched the College Football awards on our first date, watched the Heisman award on our second date and well.....if you know us you know thats all it took.

Every Sunday night Dalton & I do a devotional and pray afterwards. I always always pray about the house we are building and that there is so much love, memories, support, laughter, and faith there. Well the whole time Dalton & our friends were behind the scenes orchestrating a plan to make just that happen! The day before my birthday Dalton took me to the house. There was a photographer there who claimed to be taking photos for the builder to make sure everything was up to code, I believed it. So after walking through for an awkward 10 minutes we were about to leave and I shut the newly installed front door to show him how obsessed I am with it (Dalton says I went according to plan lol) and much to my surprise Dalton starts his proposal speech. To be honest neither of us really remember what was actually said but that’s when he got on his knee and asked me to marry him! Then of course the photographer started taking pics of what he really was there for haha. So I would say making memories in that house is off to a good start! Later he had a bunch of our friends come in town and meet us at OMB for a little celebration. So much love, so much happiness, so much laughter. BEST. DAY. EVER.
