If you are planning to fly to the wedding, we recommend booking travel into DEN (about a two-hour drive) or COS (about a 45-minute drive) from the venue, but DEN tends to be quite a bit more cost effective. Rental cars can be booked for pickup at both of these airports for the drive into the mountains.

Camping at Idlewild Ridge

There are eight acres of available land at the venue dedicated to camping and RV stays (note that RV hookups are not available) if any of the guests wish to stay onsite. There is some infrastructure at the venue to support camping, including two bathrooms, a private shower, and an open-air communal kitchen that will be shared between all campers. House Or Rental

AirBnb and VRBO

Lake George is a semi-remote town, with limited formal lodging choices. To stay close to the venue, we recommend AirBnb and VRBO as the best options. There are more than 500 listed rental properties within 5 miles of the venue. In addition, the Mountain River Lodge and Lake George Cabins and RV Parking are both within 5 minutes of the venue (both of which have individual websites and are also listed on rental sites).

Travel Note

Hotels and Resorts

Only twenty minutes from the venue, Woodland Park is the closest town with formal lodging. We recommend Microtel Inn and Suites Woodland Park and Eagle Fire Lodge and Cabins for stays in this area. For more traditional hotel and resort options (Hilton, Mariott, etc.) Colorado Springs and Manitou Springs will be the best locations, both of which are about forty minutes from the venue.

Local Food Info

Lake George and the surrounding areas have limited dining and grocery options. There are two convenience stores, a coffee shop, a BBQ restaurant, and a gastropub/brewery within five minutes of the venue, but most other options are further afield. For a large number of grocery, fast food and sit down restaurant choices Woodland Park is the best option, about 20 minutes from the venue. We still think staying close to Lake George is a great place to be but wanted everyone to know a majority of dining options are about twenty minutes away.
