Our wedding is at the Tahoe Ridge Resort in Stateline, Nevada. Located 7 miles from Lake Tahoe, the Tahoe Ridge Resort is a wonderful venue for out of town guests to experience the magic of Lake Tahoe. This means that you won't have to step foot inside a car on the day of our wedding, and can celebrate accordingly! It wound up being cheaper for guests if we did not set up a hotel block, so we don't have a designated block, although the resort is small and walkable!
The closest large airport is the Reno Tahoe airport. For those who won't be renting a car, there are shuttles that run from the Reno airport to south Tahoe, where our venue is located. Our venue suggests taking the South Tahoe Airporter shuttle to Mont Bleu, and taking the Tahoe Ridge Resort shuttle from there (more information can be found at this link: https://www.renoairport.com/tofrom-airport/shuttles). We don't want complications from getting from the airport to our venue to prevent you coming to our wedding, so if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to either of us!
Elevation impacts everyone differently. It does mean that consuming alcohol can negatively impact you more than it would at sea level. Make sure to drink lots of water and monitor your alcohol intake appropriately! We recommend drinking lots of water (more than you think you should!) and trying to eat small snacks throughout the day.
Due to party size limitations at our venue, we cannot extend a plus one to every guest. Plus ones are limited to guests in longer term relationships, or those who will not know any other guests in attendance. If you have any questions, please contact Olivia or Matthew.
Our biggest hope is that COVID calms down by November. Given the fluidity of the pandemic, we are asking guests to please test before leaving for the wedding. If possible, please test upon your arrival to Nevada as well. As the bride is immunocompromised, we ask that guests please understand we will be doing what is necessary to keep everyone safe and healthy. The ceremony portion of the day will be taking place outdoors. Our venue and wedding insurance do reserve the right to require masking and proof of vaccination, but do not currently have those requirements in place.
I'm so glad you asked 😉 We are having an unplugged ceremony, meaning we are asking that all guests silence and put away their cell phones during the ceremony. We have an amazing photographer who will be capturing the ceremony, and do not want any cell phones at all in our pictures. We will make sure to send out the full wedding gallery after the wedding. After the ceremony, you are welcome to use your phones and cameras as much or as little as you wish.
The attire is black tie optional (take this up with Matt- it was one of his only requests lol). We have been planning this event for almost two years and invite you to celebrate accordingly! Please do not feel obligated to go out and purchase something new, though. If you would like to wear a tux, feel free to rent one through Men's Warehouse, and we can pick it up for you at the Reno location the Thursday before the wedding. We will already be picking up several people's tuxes, and are happy to pick up additional ones.
