Meet us at Tahoe on November 5, 2022

Welcome to our wedding website! We are so excited to celebrate this season of our lives with our nearest and dearest. The wedding will take place on November 5, 2022 in Stateline, Nevada. The venue, the Tahoe Ridge Resort, doubles as a resort. We hope this will make traveling out here easier for those who have to travel, and will allow all of our favorite people to be in one spot! For years they took similar classes (we were both Geology majors), had several mutual friends, and lived in the same town, but never met. The summer of 2019, both Olivia and Matt were living in Lexington and working at Washington and Lee. Olivia was doing research, and Matt was working for special collections. They met early on in the summer, and for Olivia, it was love at first sight. They spent the rest of the summer hiking and exploring together. In August, they found out Matt was going to be moving to Colorado for several months for work. They decided to stay together despite the distance. It was tough, but in March of 2020, Matt got to come back to Virginia. COVID-19 hit, and Olivia had to leave her on-campus housing. They had already signed a lease on a house for June, so they decided to move in together in Matt's small apartment a bit earlier than they had planned. They did long distance for a few more months when Olivia moved to Utah for work in the summer of 2020, and finally were together again in August of 2020. They vowed never to do long distance again. Now they share a home in Reno, Nevada with their sweet pup, Blue Ridge.

They day Matt proposed was an unseasonably warm Virginian Sunday afternoon, and they spent it walking around Lexington's little downtown area. They got coffee at the place they had one of their first dates, and then Matt suggested they go take a walk on an area of land on Washington and Lee's campus. Earlier in the day, Matt had gone and decorated a gazebo that sits up on a hilltop with yellow flowers (yellow is Olivia's favorite color). He got down on one knee, and asked Olivia to spend the rest of her life with him. He had one of their friends (Nolan Zunk) come and take photos of the whole thing. It was beautiful, romantic, and perfect.
