Groom
Nikki is the unexpected wonderful surprise whom I'm excited to marry. By October 12, I knew that she was the woman I wanted and needed in my life – she was more than I asked God for. Yes, her passion for the Lord & ministry was easy to see, but I was awed by the ease in which we talked for hours and the difficulty we had pausing our conversations. By October 14, I knew I loved her and she is that person who understands and will support me, help me stand, love and respect me. She is home to me and I can hardly wait to spend the rest of our lives together as we walk this path that God has prepared for us.
Bride
Richard and I met while serving in what I thought was going to a typical missions trip, but God had bigger plans in store. Through every step of our journey and every challenge, God's hand has surely been guiding our relationship; His fingerprints are everywhere. Even as I reread our conversations from that first month, I am amazed at how much love was already within those messages as I feel it even more now than I recognized at the time. I'm overjoyed that the Lord has not only given me someone who fully sees, understands and loves me, but has given a glimpse of how He truly sees and loves each of us. It is abundant, steady love beyond what I have imagined and has been present from the beginning. I can hardly wait to marry Richard and see how God continues to speak through our lives and testimonies. Mar keken (only love).
Best Man
Hi! I'm David Mbonye and am married to Lillian Amuge Mbonye. I'm a father to four, and have one on the way. I have known Richard and Nikki close to a year now and it feels like we've known each other from a past life. I know they will have a great and happy marriage coz of the love bond they have. May God bless this Union.
Matron of Honor
Hey, I'm Grace! My favourite name is Aunt G – it just has a nice ring to it. I'm a social intelligence. I know the couple through the groom himself, he is my godson, and it's been amazing seeing his and Nicole's story unfold. So happy to be part of this special moment!
Groomsman
Hello, my name is Josh Kamoga. I recently married my beautiful wife, Grace Kamoga. I met Richard through Grace and currently work with him as well. I am so excited to celebrate Richard and Nicole.
Bridesmaid
I first met Richard last year in Uganda, serving as a missionary. We became good friends right away. When I heard the news he got a girlfriend, I was thrilled for him. And then to hear the news of his engagement!! Words can't describe how excited I am for Richard and Nicole. I'm honored to be by their side on their special day.
Groomsman
I've known Christian for a little over 10 years now (he is my godson) and I've known Nikki for almost a year, although it feels like forever because of her beautiful personality. As a husband for 14 years now and a father of three, I'm so excited they've taken their relationship to the next level by deciding to walk down the aisle and tie the knot. May God surely bless their marriage.
Bridesmaid
I met Nicole at Skokie Valley Baptist Church and got to know her better throughout my sister's wedding season last year. I have had the privilege of getting to hear her deep insights on faith and relationships; it's really been an encouragement to me. I'm grateful for the opportunity to serve as a bridesmaid, and I am looking forward to the big day and the festivities for Nicole and Richard!
Groomsman
Hi, my name is Roy. I've been friends with Nicole for 8 years and we became close friends while serving in many areas of our church. Nicole shares the same heart as I do for people, seeing them and serving them. This is the heart of God. I see that same heart in Richard, especially through the stories Nicole has shared with me about him. Seeing the way he checks up on her and gives her encouragement, I could tell this was special. Even when Nicole came back from Uganda after the first time, I sensed that was where she needed to be even though it was unclear how God would lead her there. And although I was surprised when she told me she got engaged, after some time remembering, I knew for certain God's hands were all over this. This marriage will be a blessing to many!
Bridesmaid
I'm Scovia and a chef at CJ's. As the sister of the groom, I'm excited to join my brother in his happy moments as he weds Nicole.
Peg Boy (Ring Bearer)
Jireh is my (Richard) nephew. He loves running around with his friends, yet is always ready to lend a hand and serve when needed. We are overjoyed to have him as our peg boy.
Flower Girl
Esther is one of the daughter's of my (Nicole) friends, Ronnie and and Rachel. Although I've only known her for a short time, Esther (and her sisters) already feels like my niece and is full of joyful energy. We're delighted that she will be our flower girl.
