Uganda Flight Options

We're so excited that you are planning to attend our wedding in-person! Since you'll be traveling in December, you'll want to aim to purchase your flight in September or October for the best price as December is a high travel time due to Christmas and New Year's. On average, round trip tickets will be around $1300 for traveling in economy in December (tracking flight prices starting in late July/August is highly recommended). Currently, buying Thursday, Friday or Sunday shows the best prices no matter the date of your departure and return. In order to arrive in time, your arrival date should be no later than the 18th of December. Some of the airlines will be 2 days worth of traveling and others will be just one day, so make sure you check the arrival date. Ideally, your departure date should be before the 16th of December so that you have some time to adjust to the time difference. Any of the following airlines are great options: - Qatar Airlines - Turkish Airlines - KLM Royal Dutch Airlines - Emirates - British Airways - Ethiopian Airlines

Uganda Travel Preparation

In addition to the $50 for a Ugandan tourist visa (we will send you the info you need for this process), please keep in mind that you may have additional travel costs as Uganda does require those visiting to receive the yellow fever vaccine (about $500 with a travel consult) and for your passport to have at least 6 months validity after your return date. If you haven't had one before, you'll need to do a travel consult at least 2 months in advance. You may also want to purchase travel insurance if your insurance company doesn't cover international travel. We recommend checking out World Trips for quotes. Nicole has used Atlas Travel and found it to be quite affordable for short-term trips.

Rest Gardens

Rest Gardens is a beautiful resort located near PDN. Although near the city, it is a quiet, peaceful place with beautiful outdoor spaces, including a swimming pool. The rooms reserved for our guest are single rooms with a queen bed and include breakfast, wi-fi, a full bathroom, and unlimited access to the swimming pool. Rest Gardens also offers lunch and dinner for an additional fee per meal. The nightly cost will depend on the total number of wedding guests staying at Rest Gardens, but you can expect to pay up to $59/night, which includes purchasing the optional meals. All international guests are welcome to use the transportation vehicles that will be available to transport them to the ceremony and reception. As the number of vehicles hired will depend on the number of guests, please contact us to confirm that you wish to use the provided transport. We will update you on departure times as we will also account for possible traffic along the way.
