Things To Do

We love Telluride and the surrounding San Juan Mountains so dearly. We hope you can take advantage of all the outdoor opportunities while you're in town. We've added a few hiking and activity recommendations below, as well as our favorite places to eat and drink!

Ride the Gondola!

The towns of Telluride and Mountain Village are linked by a spectacular, 12-minute ride on a free gondola - a must when visiting Telluride! More information here: https://www.telluride.com/discover/the-gondola/

Explore Downtown Telluride

Tons of great shops, restaurants and historic buildings to explore in downtown. Don't miss the Sheridan Opera House and the San Miguel Valley Bank (now the Mahr Building) where Butch Cassidy committed his first bank robbery!

Hike to Bridal Veil Falls

A 2 mile out-and-back hike to the iconic Bridal Veil Falls: https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/colorado/bridal-veil-falls-trail--6

Drive Last Dollar Road

Last Dollar Road is a true Colorado gem. This dirt road connects Ridgway to Telluride in the summer and provides unbelievable views of the San Juan Mountains. Don’t miss the clear view of Wilson Peak, recognizable to anyone who’s ever examined the label on a Coors bottle. We took our engagement photos on Last Dollar Road, just a few miles past the Telluride airport. It is a stunning drive even if you just do the first 10 miles outside of Telluride and then turn back. Drive the entire way to Ridgway if you have time! More details here: https://www.colorado.com/articles/colorado-hidden-gem-last-dollar-road

Brown Dog Pizza

110 East Colorado Avenue, Telluride, CO 81435

The best pizza in town (and in the state in our opinion)! Also it was named after their beloved chocolate labrador ... enough said.

The Coffee Cowboy

300 West San Juan Avenue, Telluride, CO 81435

Our favorite coffee in town! It's right next to the gondola station so grab a cup of coffee before you take a ride over to Mountain Village!

Smuggler Union Restaurant & Brewery

225 South Pine Street, Telluride, CO 81435

Great food, local beer, fun atmosphere. A win win win.

Telluride Brewing Co Brewpub & Kitchen

568 Mountain Village Boulevard, Mountain Village, CO 81435

Gotta go to Telluride Brewing! Ana's favorite beer is the Russell Kelly Mosiac IPA and Rich's is the Tangerine Blonde Ale.

Walk along the Telluride River Trail

Beautiful flat path in town that follows the river and provides great valley views. https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/colorado/telluride-river-trail

Hike to Bear Creek Falls

A 4.5 mile out-and-back trail that will provide gorgeous valley views and a wonderful payoff at Bear Creek Falls. https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/colorado/bear-creek-falls-via-bear-creek-trail

Hike Jud Wiebe Memorial Trail

Another great hike that will give you a birds-eye view of downtown Telluride and the "box canyon"! https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/colorado/jud-wiebe-memorial-trail

For all the days along the way
